A great album for its time, so diverse, the live stuff, Astonomy Domine, Careful With That Axe, Saucerfull, then the bizzare Several Small Species and the beautiful Granchester Meadows all 'gathered together and grooving on one album' Great stuff.
I also have a fondness for Atom Heart Mother, saw them do it in Manchester, orchesta and all.
But my favourite Floyd gigg has to be Knebworth 76ish. They did Dark Side Of The Moon, last band to play on the saturday night, just awsome. It still remains to this day the best live performance i have ever seen.
Maybe cheap availability has something to do with exporting hordes of idiots to foreign climes, but i think i runs deeper than that. After all, where i stayed it cost me £12.50 per night including all my food. Didnt seem to entice the morons though.
But getting back on topic, the op stated that her friends and the bartender encouraged her to drink more. If that was indeed the case then surely the bartender at least should be held in some way culpable. Although you cant expect bar owners or staff to monitor thier customers at all times, you would expect if someone was obviously worse for wear, no further drinks would be supplied to them, let alone encourage them.
This is why i avoid places like Maramris. The last time i went to Turkey i didnt come across a single person who was worse for wear due to drink. But this could be due to the fact that in the time i spent there i met only four Brits. Plenty of Americans, Canadians and Aussies, all having a great time, without abusing their hosts or people around them.
I would be ashamed to mingle with some of the British morons who roam the Costas' and Med resorts.
If it was wrong for not believing, in fairytale facade and then I met him when I died, well I'd apologise to god But if it meant I went down on my knees well where's the spirit gone where's the love you're all talking of when you can't stand man to man? Man to man When you can't stand man to man. I find it hard to believe, in these 'gospels' that I've heard the forked tongue of the bible belt, the ayatollah's word I don't believe most anything spoken by anyone as hell's fanatic paranoids fire heaven's loaded gun If it was right to be believing, then it must be in this that difference is beautiful, and living it is bliss, there are no teams there is no side that life on earth is done by living the love you're only talking of by standing man to man
