Because diesel has a much higher oil content than petrol, the rise in the price of crude oil is reflected much more in diesel. When oil prices were low, the cost of the extra refining need to produce petrol resulted in the higher cost. As oil prices have increased dramatically,diesel prices have slowly overtaken petrol prices.

Well seeing as almost nobody replied to the almost identical thread i put up earlier, i miight as well jump in here.
Given the weather right now in the UK and the forecast for the rest of the weekend, indoors seems the best bet.
Although i do have a moutain bike meet in the Welsh hills to look forward to on Sunday. That is if those guys at the bicycle shop can pull their fingers out and fix my bike in time.
