Yet it would be ridiculous to say that many from my generation are lazy and undisciplined, as you have. This is a generalized statement and I would like facts to back that up, not just your opinion. Because this generation is indeed made up of individuals, such as myself, that are quite the opposite of lazy and undisciplined. Sure, we can get a microscope and always find someone that takes advantage of others, but for the most part, I find your statement unable to hold much water. And I would also like to say, although there are exceptions to the rule, your generation is brilliant as well. I have my nieces and nephews and acquaintances across the world that lives me without a doubt that they will hopefully leave the world a better place than they found it. The fault I find with your argument is your haste to finger point and place blame. It is impossible to judge another person, or another generation, without having first walked in his/her shoes.
Lazy and undisciplined??? Do you know what it is like to work 80 plus hours a week for months, even years on end, not for self-purposes, but for the betterment of others?
Are you sure about that? What does it take to "change the world"? Without going into unnecessary details, I have spent the better part of the last 20 years that will possibly, and hopefully, change lives and shape the future. And I will be 51 in a few days.... Age plays no role in changing and shaping the future.
My parents were hard-working, sacrificing individuals. My mother held 3 jobs to put food on the table and provide us the basic necessities of life. My father worked hard and rose in his company based on unparalleled work ethics and performance. I base most of my life experiences and successes on the example my parents and grandparents and great-grandparents set for me. This does not at all correspond with your ideas. Could it be that your eyes need to be opened a bit more?
..and not to forget, his children and grandchildren to blame him for creating and not solving all of the ills and wrongs of the world. These people of the 60s and 70s, that he claims are unwise, have worked endless hours, sacrificed much for much, and continue to be one of the most generous generations, giving uncounted $ and time to the re-building of war-torn countries, places devastated by natural disasters, going into dangerous areas to help AIDS victims and starving children. Intelligent people? Yes. Wise people? Most humbly and adamantly, yes...
Odd...we USAers cull old people? Come visit our Senior Retirement Facilities...they are resorts. It is becoming common to have mom and dad move in to care for them as well, as people are living longer than in previous generations. I humbly state that you are misinformed about the "thoughts of the USA".
I believe you are out of touch with reality. Step aside? You need to run to catch up with us, and open your eyes and ears to wisdom and experience young man. You have alot to learn from us "oldsters".
Met a guy, not from CS, and on 2nd date, he brought his 8 year old son. That was surprising. And he began the subject of giving his son some brothers and sisters...that he would take care of the children if I thought I was too old to do the baby-caring-thing. We did not have a 3rd date...
RE: Fake fake fake
Well, I do have a few pics. But I'm short on courage, and am somewhat shy.
