Three years ago, a Canadian research team noticed that people who received a flu shot were more likely to become infected with the pandemic H1N1 virus than those who hadn’t received a shot. Five follow-up studies were done in several provinces, with the same disturbing results.
Now a new double-blind study led by an influenza expert at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control has recreated the event using ferrets. The ferrets in the vaccine group became significantly sicker than the other animals.
No one is entirely sure why this is, though it does not appear to have been a problem with the flu vaccine used in Canada. So not only do we have to worry about the side effects of the flu vaccine, it now seems to be exacerbating the very illness it’s supposed to prevent.
This is not the first time a flu drug turned out to be ineffective, making people potentially more vulnerable to the flu. Roche Pharmaceuticals was accused of withholding data about its Tamiflu pill—data that suggested not only was the drug not as effective as it had been reported, it actually appeared to be no more effective than aspirin. It also appears to interfere with the body’s own ability to create antibodies to the flu virus, which is important to fight off future infections.
Yet Tamiflu was stockpiled by various world governments during the swine flu pandemic. The UK had contracts in place for 50 million doses of Tamiflu, enough for 80% of population, while the US had stockpiled over 37 million doses. The cost to US taxpayers was $1.5 billion.
For Big Pharma, the next pandemic is nothing more than an opportunity to make more money—at the expense of our pocketbooks, our health, and sometimes even our lives. Remember that the US flu shot—unlike the one given in Europe—still contains mercury, which is another important reason to avoid it.
Better yet, go for the far more effective natural cures. Vitamin D is extremely effective in combating influenza. The treatments we mentioned in our TB article in this issue would also apply to the flu.
Brushing aside privacy concerns by parents and civil rights activists, a Texas school district has gone live with a controversial program requiring all students to wear a locator radio chip that will enable officials to track their every move – or face expulsion At the beginning of the school year students at John Jay High School and Anson Jones Middle School within the Northside Independent School District were told their old student ID badges were no longer valid. During registration they were required to obtain new badges containing a radio frequency identification tracker chip. On October 1, the schools went live with a program to use the chips to track the exact locations of students using the badges. The badges would even be able to tell if a student in a classroom is in his seat or somewhere else in the room. The paper said RFID tracking is dehumanizing, since it can “monitor how long a student or teacher spends in a bathroom stall.” We are simply asking your daughter to wear an ID badge as every other student and adult on the Jay campus is asked to do.”
Galindo went on to suggest there would be consequences if she did not agree to wear the new badge fter paying a $30 fee with the FOIA request I was able to get every student’s name and address,” Fazio explained. “Using this information along with an RFID reader means a predator could use this information to determine if the student is at home and then track them wherever they go. These chips are always broadcasting so anyone with a reader can track them anywhere.”
