mostly all the street foods are safe, as Lavina says, you must check the place. Where will you stay during in Jakarta btw ?
Many street foods in Jaksa Street or nearby, e.g : satay, gado-gado, etc
There is a traditional local restaurant -- here we called 'warteg' -- in Jalan Jaksa/near Morrisey Hotel. And next to the Warteg there is a small cafe. Lots of backpackers or sometimes foreigners have lunch in this Warteg. This Warteg serve a variety of local foods, the place is quite clean. But, this place is very small.
yeah... but at least.. I have met a female CS member here when I visited to Singapore and we're friends since then. have met 1 Irish guy last year and I had a nice lunch with an Aussie male cs member and Jakarta members too.
