I really question any fool who runs for the Presidency office. Obama is really too young to run the country, and he is showing his greenness just by what he does. There is no way I would raise children in the light that he is doing. There is no way the country should be run like it is.
Oh well. The US owes China so much, one day the Emperor of China will come over and take what really belongs to them. Then we will learn how to live all over and China lives totally different than the US. And they have so much more and know how to appreciate what they do have too.
I don't think any president really understands the economy better than Roosevelt and Eisenhower. Although these were way, way, back there before my time -- even -- the people who are in office now does not have any balls to stand up and say that they want what is good for America. At least Bush was in his office when the disasters struck. Where was Obama? Vacationing with the family or in another country. Go figure! And who pays for all these trips -- the American tax payers.
Maybe we should tell him he is only allowed one week vacation a year, and live on less than $30,000 a year. Wonder how he would feel then.
Not supposed to be. However when you tell Christians they cannot have a day of prayer but you go and kneel with the other organizations that is totally two faced. Don't take the oath of office and then decide you want to belong somewhere else. Get out of it.
I don't really know how anyone can call 53% the majority, but the president is earned by electoral votes and some states have a large amount of these votes -- this is where Obama really got the election -- not from the people.
Don't hate the man! Just wish he had more experience and understand the world better before being elected. If he was a smart man, he would not have applied for the position
That is what we used to do to. But when you are 4 ft high and the clothes line is 6 foot, it does cause a problem Drag it over the first line and pin it, then grab the tails (hoping they did not drag the ground and daddy saw you) and pin it to the second one. Then take a tobacco stick and prop up the line near the quilt so it does not drag the ground. Yep, yep, yep, been there.
If it was not so hot here, I would do the same and save big time on electricity. But with my work, and the heat, I can't be hanging clothes out at midnight, and get up a 4 to take them back in before I go to work
Wow! You mean you still have a clothes line! I remember those and what fun they were to try to hang a quilt that was bigger than the line without touching the ground with it!
Mushy! Squishy! Soggy ground -- not a good way to walk. Unless of course, you have a boat, and can Row Your way around
We are never happy with the weather. Right now, over 1/2 of Georgia has burned in the last 3 months. The Okefenokee Swamp is so on fire (figure that one out -- it is a swamp ). There was over 70 fires at one time in the surrounding counties that burned over 5000 acres. So far the Okefenokee fire has burned almost 200,000 acres and has crossed into Florida.
Currently we are getting the pop up lightning storms because it has been at or around 100 degrees for the last week. Last night we had eraser size hail at my home. I don't want to rain like you have Ccincy, as the creek would be under my house and I have no where to go. But we would survive as we always do.
I agree. But what happens when they become adults and have to really learn how to survive in the world. Most public school teachers take it one day at a time, take the kids out of the classes, put them in alternative school, etc. They don't care and these are people in GA that is getting $50K+ a year -- and they do what?
Where I work is totally different. Technical colleges are for the adults, or for those who really want to learn something. I have great students, but when there are no raises, and you are to bare bones, something has to give. I really love my job. I love to see those who want to excel in what they do. It makes me happy to see them doing so well and I know that I am doing my job. Most of my people are over the age of 25 who have found that live is not handed to you on a silver platter and they need to have the education to go with experience to be able to get a decent job.
Wow! Sounds like my town. Blink your eyes twice and it is gone. It is five miles from one side of two to the other, and that is mostly housing complexes. We have Walmart and one other grocery store, banks like crazy (some say millionaires live here ), a new hospital, doctors springing up and around, CVS, Walgreens, and Kmart, plus the technical college.
We have the prerequisite courthouse and courts, lawyers (not too many he he), jail, sheriff and city police, and Rayonier. The only thing holding this town alive. If Rayonier closes, the town will fall.
And he has another year in office. Unemployment rate in Georgia, and particularly where I live was in the 13% - 15% in the last quarter of last year. There are very few businesses left in this little town.
Hi Galrads! I was just saying that any president who allows and says "take funds from education" did not have an education himself. If he had an education, and had to pay student loans, he would not be so quick to take away from those who are trying to make a decent living.
I have students who have made more in 3 months than I make all year and they went through the program that I teach. Does this sound like education is getting a fair shake?
Education is my life. I am currently enrolled in classes trying to make myself better. In the last five years there has not been a raise for teachers, the budgets have been cut and cut and cut. I am doing the job of three instructors but get paid the wages of a secretary.
Oops! Wait! Some of the secretaries where I work get paid more, and I have more education. When the president of the country cuts educational funds for the teachers, the colleges, the public school system, then complains that our children are not getting the education they deserve, needs to point the finger in his direction as that is where the directive came.
I would love for his family to live on what my family lives on for one month. I can almost bet that his car payment is more than my monthly paycheck. There are four in my house and we live sparingly.
You said this perfectly!! We do need someone to concentrate on our nation and to get the economy back to where it should be. I have not had a raise in over five years.
This is extremely debatable! Any president who puts their country is five times more debt than was there when they went in and does not believe that education needs to have a legislation where funds are fed to it and not taken away needs to think twice about running again.
A friend is always there even when we are so bad to them. I have friends that way and they are always there for me through the bad, the worse, and the better.
I would take this to mean that you need to cherish everyone you hold dear. Just because the stone has not been polished does not mean they are not a diamond.
You know that is right. My father believed until the day he passed, that there were good in anyone. He would give the shirt off his back if he thought someone needed it.
Today, I don't even trust the sheriff department to do what they are supposed to. My house was broken into around 6 am one morning, about 8 months ago. The culprits got away because the deputies did not know where I was located. Have a perfectly good house address, but the deputy said he did not know the road went back that far for a house to be hidden (which it was not).
Go figure. Can't even trust the law to do their job right.
