I voted men. It all depends on the level of commitment. Not all men are duplicitous by nature. Some men feel restrained enough to want to act out, others were never in 'love' but were in 'lust' and may lack the balls to communicate when it fades. Let's face it, most men don't communicate effectively regarding their emotions. Some men are in 'love' but want their cake as well as eat it. Some men have secrets that they are ashamed of or embarrassed of and lie to cover them up. I put it down to testosterone and communication in the end, and my opinion may seem one sided but I (thankfully) haven't had the misfortune of having any female spouces lie to me.
Of course, some wonderful men may lie because they have a sneaky wife who wants to know why he's late/where he's been and he doesn't want to tell her he was shopping for her birthday,christmas or anniversary present!
Lastly, some people may suffer from Compulsive Lying, which is classified as a disease and should be treated with medication. Compulsive Liars are goal orientated and are not to be confused with Pathological Liars which have no purpose at all.
