Going to see elton john in the hunter valley in dec..his voice is still as good as ever..along with leo sayer who still puts on a terrific concert and his vocals are still brilliant seeing him recently.
As for local talent..richard clapton.the radiators who still rock who regularly play at the pub where i work still belt out the tunes to the diehard punters.Icehouse,cold chisel the triffids.russell morris,mental as anything,mal eastic,1927 are still playing around the club and pub scene in sydney and are still in fine voice.

True merri,sydney has the biggest homeless population in sydney,especially around central station.Every night coming home from my shift there would be at least 200 or more homeless lined up in sleeping bags along walls its quiet staggering to see.But they have become creatures of habit while they do not have a bed or room for the night,most dont go without food. There are numerous soup kitchens around the city and central for the needy.
Another problem is out in sydneys west,parramatta where i used to do voluntary work in prince alfred park on a tues and sunday night..used to have a bbq.hotdog and coffee facilities,anyone was welcome,they would go to the soup at the anglican church in the morning and for lunch.and head to the park for a late night feed.
I met some wonderful people over the 5 year period.who unfortunately just get dealt the wrong cards in life,financial ruin.marriage breakups,gambling,alcahol etc.I have so many uplifting stories i could share and not so many...
