"Madcap participants, including thousands of mainly British, French and German tourists, turned themselves into a 'human gazpacho' in a riotous display of self-indulgence at one of the world's messiest festivals." - posted on the net today.
Hot, strong, black, decaf. Won't turn down Bailey's if it's on offer. Prefer (in descending order) Starbucks, Second Cup, Williams, Tims but never Country Style.
I had a student from Spain here for July and she greeted me with a hug and kiss on both cheeks the first time we met. I'm of European descent so I was very comfortable with that.
I'm staying up tonight til 1 am when my student from China arrives. I expect this will be a more formal greeting, perhaps a handshake.
I know what you mean. I've been on my own with my 3 kids since 1998. I work one fulltime job, one part-time in the evenings about 3x a week and do freelance work. I have a student from China arriving tonight who will be paying room and board so that will help too. I'm also working with a lawyer to get support. Meanwhile my ex (who laughed when I said I'm taking him to court for support) makes big bucks and just remarried a nice woman who has no idea what a sociopath he is. After 8 years it isn't any easier but we're surviving. Hang in there and I hope things get better for you.
I post an innocent snack recipe before trundling off to bed and check in to find Duncan cyber-dipped in chocolate, strawberries and all, and countless women salivating at the thought! I obviously went to bed too early!
- 25 live adult crickets - 4 squares of semi-sweet chocolate
Rinse the crickets, pat them dry and freeze them for half an hour until they're dead. Once they're dead, take them out of the freezer and pull off their legs and heads. Then, put them in an oven set at 250 degrees until they're crunchy (about 15 to 20 minutes). While the crickets are baking, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a double-boiler (keeps it from burning). Once the crickets are done, dip them in the melted chocolate and put them on a sheet of wax paper so the chocolate can set.
It helps that my kids are all over 20. They help with groceries, cooking, gardening and so on. The 2 who live at home are at their part-time jobs tonight too. Have a good sleep! <- my goal for 10 pm
Anybody else work more than one job? I have one full-time, one casual and some freelance clients. Am at the casual one now, probably for another 3 hours. Wish I was home napping!
Tomato festival in Spain
Truckloads of them! It's becoming a big tourist event.
