I've asked my kids to sponsor someone else's Christmas through a local agency... it means buying clothing, something on the recipient's wish list and whatever else my kids choose.

The agency matches up either a child, a teen or a family with donors. This year there's a real need for sponsors for teens, so that's what I suggested to my own 3. I'll also sponsor a family. Donors are anonymous and we only learn basics about our recipients in respect of their privacy.
