Are you willing to risk:

Finances

Geographical location

Heart ache

Friends

Family

Security

Possible failure

and all other issues to be with the person you want?

How much would you be willing to risk?

This is a very good question...

I was okay with most of it until i reached the heartache and possible failure part...

The most frightening thing to me is getting involved with someone and wondering each and every day if its going to last...and how will i ever deal with the heartache again...

I find that i become "emotionally overwhelmed" at the thought of "being involved" with someone...because when i love someone i love them very deeply...it leaves me very vulnerable...

I will say though...for the right person...I would be willing to risk it all...just to have them..

Hmmmmmmmm Good question and tricky too!

It would all depend on the person and how things are etc..My family and my children are my number one priorieties. As long as they are happy then that makes me happy. I would never ever sacrifice my children or my family for someone. They are my whole life and world.

Now if my family resented my partner and he did nothing wrong that might be different. But other than that the family comes first.

The possibility of actually letting down all of the walls is in fact, somewhat frightening.

Sometimes, I think that I do enjoy having my own identity and with holding certain things about myself are a means of protecting agains hurt.

Finances: I have been at the bottom of the barrel before, however, I do not wish to go back.

Location: hm......well. No children, however, all my siblings and parents reside in Pensacola. They make planes, automobiles and trains for that.

Heartache: Tough one. Burned pretty bad. I will let you know.

Friends: They make new ones.

Family: See above.

Security: Have cat will travel.

Failure: The worst one of all. No one wants to have another failure in a relationship. No one wants to lose at love. No one wants another heartbreak in life. Failure tends to help us become stronger and more capable of handling life's issues. It also makes up the best parts of our personalities if we let it.

There are certain things I'm willing to risk.... heartache and failure. Can't always play it "safe"..... no relationship comes with a garantee.
True friends are always around, distance should not matter.
My family all lives overseas, the only thing I have to think about is my children. Which is very important!
Geographical location, you can always move back if you don't like it.

There are a lot of circumstances in life you can work around. Lots of things are possible in life...

The last line is key... and my response would be different for "the one whom I love and who loves me" as opposed to "the person you want"

sometimes in love you have to be willing to risk everything
you have to take a chance you always have a 50-50 chance of winning everything or losing everything.
you have to be willing to lay it all on the line
hold nothing back.like everything in life sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but if you win you win everything that gives life meaning peace

Finances: no real worries there

Geographical location: there are many places that I could accept as home rather than here

Heart ache: been there a few times and willing to accept it again

Friends: this gets a bit stickier...

Family: same as friends...

Security: as self employed a viable market for my talents is crucial

Possible failure: nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh?

Hi Cat,

I would risk everything except my relationship with my adult daughter. She lives a life that is completely independent of me.
I don't even hear from her very often. Still - I would not do anything to jeopardize my relationship with my daughter. However, as for all of the other things - I would let it all go, for one who loved me and for whom I felt love.

Kind Regards, (hoping you still love Canada),

Lorraine.

I'd only risk heartache and the chance that it might fail. No one ever died from shedding a tear. I've risked the others many times in the past. It was just too hard to spring back from. Its true, you have to take a chance, to get a chance...but when you are approaching middle age...dunno

I would not risk friends, family and location (at this time).

I would be willing to risk possible failure, heart ache, some finances and location (when my girls are grown)
