RE: Things that make you go hmmm

Well done Twingles...you saved me the effort of doing the same and researching these allegations. professor

RE: A question for those paying child support to their former spouse

My point is that certain expenses - such as a mortgage - are fixed and are not influenced by the addition of a second or more people in the residence.

I agree that I sound (and can be) petty but, for good reason as I have been nickled and dimed over the years. I've always set my children's well being foremost and have been more than generous in buying school supplies (including a laptop for $800.00) only to be met with resistance when attempts are made to collect half the cost.

Like many in my situation, I seek nothing more than a fair balance.

RE: Boycottgas

If every driver in the country were able to go an entire week without fueling up then the revenues for that week would be nil however, in the week following, everyone would have to fill up thereby offsetting the so called loss.

This concept of trying to force oil companies to lower prices is ill conceived and nothing short of ridiculous.

And that is all I have to say about that.

RE: Boycottgas

Do the math...put in less per fill and the frequency of visits to the pump increase. professor

The only way that one can reduce the amount of fuel consumed is to reduce the distance travelled. This is not nuclear physics folks. roll eyes

RE: A question for those paying child support to their former spouse

Excuse me? I spent 18 years co-raising children so I think that I have some idea where the money should be spent. frustrated

RE: Boycottgas

Anyone that thinks that attempting to boycott gas stations is not thinking it through - those of us that drive have to fill up.roll eyes

RE: Who will win the Stanley cup

It'd be nice to see Toronto win as this is the 40th anniversary of their last cup victory....40 years...just think, many of you here have lived your entire lives and never seen Toronto win the cup! frustrated

RE: Should men grow their hair long---atleast once in their lifetime???

I had mine long back in my late 30's and cut it on my 40th. Tied it back usually in a ponytail. I recently dug up an old airport security pass and with the hair not tied back and a full beard I looked like an Iraqi Terrorist! No wonder my wife asked me to cut it! roll eyes

Reminiscing - Little River band:

Friday night it was late, I was walking you home
We got down to the gate, I was dreaming of the night
Would it turn out right?
How to tell you girl, I want to build my world around you
Wanna tell you that it's true
I wanna make you understand I'm talking about a lifetime plan

Well that's the way it began, we were hand-in-hand
Glen Miller's band was better than before
We yelled and screamed for more
And those Porter's tunes made us dance across the room
It ended all too soon
On the way back home I promised you'd never be alone

Hurry, don't be late
I can't hardly wait
I said to myself when we're old
We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park
And reminiscing

Friday night it was late, I was walking you home
We got down to the gate, I was dreaming of the night
Would it turn out right?
Now as the years roll on, each time we hear our favourite song
The memories come along
Older times we're missing, spending the hours reminiscing

RE: Wandering eyes

So...a few years back I'm at a restaurant with a friend on a date. The waitress - good looking, nice body, tight fitting blouse - comes over to take our order...she's standing beside me, I'm sitting...do the math! I happened to take a glance - not a glare! I thought it was a respectful (as artgurl says) glance...well...did I hear about it later on! uh oh

Dougie's right: cool

Thanks for the laugh on page 2 girls! rolling on the floor laughing
