...let's see what's in the fridge that doesn't smell funny...hmm...what's in here? Ah yes! that's it! Five Alive...and it smells OK...will that do then?
Half an hour? It would take most of us - male or female - to shower, change and be ready in half an hour. Therefore, if they were that tardy then clearly they were not even STARTING to be ready prior to your arrival! That, is disrespectful.
So, to honestly answer the initial question I'd say that 5 or 10 minutes is acceptable but by the time 15 rolls around I'd probably start to get annoyed however, it really all depends upon how well I have gotten to know the person in the ether prior to the first face-to-face date.
...and yes, let me clarify an earlier remark of mine to say that I really have no freaking idea what happened to Gibs - it was pure speculation on my part that he may have got the boot as the night before there was quite a fray going on in here.
It is entirely possible that he left of his own volition considering the pissing contest that was ongoing at the time.
I never implied there were others. Gibs & Jonquille are the two that I was referring to specifically. Two members that provided much in the way of intelligent and thought provoking dialogue.
..."the right person"...well...I suppose that my reply perhaps can be qualified by saying if the person were someone that I had come to know through here or chatting and there was a certain chemistry felt upon meeting then my desire to wait would be increased substantially.
If however, I had not gotten to know them beforehand and felt no sparks fly then I would probably be impatient and may well set a subconscious tone for the rest of the date.
Having said this, I suppose that the answer to the initial question in this thread really depends upon the circumstances and the individuals involved - much like relationships and dating in general: it's never black and white is it?
A half hour is a long time to be kept waiting unless there was a valid explanation as to the delay coupled with an equally valid reason why a phone call was not made.
Donna, why not ask those that have delivered the compliment? The answers here are but conjecture and speculation - good ones to be sure but still conjecture.
RE: Anyone online?
if I did I'd be on it now partying in the air!
