RE: COUNTRY

Yep you can play underage for another country and then change, so until you have played competitively for the national team you have not committed. So a few play for northern ireland youths and then declare for the republic.

RE: COUNTRY

Under the good friday agreement nordys can have irish or british nationality, so perfectly within their rights to say republic.

RE: You cannot prove there is no God.

The thing that makes us different from all other creatures is the size of our brain. Good or bad that's the unfortunate truth.

RE: Homeland

RE: Was the Bible wrong?

"I'm going to create man and woman with original sin. Then I'm going to impregnate a woman with myself as her child, so that I can be born in human form. Once alive, I will kill myself as a sacrifice to myself. To save you from the sin I originally condemned you to. Ta dah!"

RayfromUSA

I agree with this point it's one I was trying to make earlier in the thread less well explained.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Utter nonsense. Article 40.3.3 of the Irish constitution - right to life of the unborn. Man made a law protecting this right. The unborn child had nothing to do with it. Inherently he could be terminated prior to being born unless the state prohibited it. Natural rights do not cover the broad pantheon of civil and human rights.

RE: Songs With The Word "End"

R.E.M. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Yes but without these rights codified into law someone could break those rights without me having any recourse. Eg equality and womens rights to vote.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

You as a member of society follow the rules and laws of that society or perhaps you are writing this from a canadian prison. I can't be chained and fed because I have human rights conferred on me from ethics from the government and EU. In fact as a canadian aren't you a subject of the Queen of England as your soveigrn. You're really going nowhere with this or do you want another shovel to start digging upwards.

Now that's non sequitur!!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Do you have enough blind faith to believe that life just popped into existence from nonlife, and that such life just happened to have the ability to take in the nourishment it needed, to expel waste, and to reproduce itself, all the while having everything it needed to survive in the environment in which it suddenly found itself.

Nowhere was Darwin able to point to one bona fide case of natural selection having actually generated evolutionary change in nature….Ultimately, the Darwinian theory of evolution is no more nor less than the great cosmogenic myth of the twentieth century.” Michael Denton, Evolution: A Theory in Crises

The difference in intelligence between a monkey and a man. Difference in ability. Difference in the size of a brain.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

In 1996, the Government of Canada issued a report entitled New Reproductive and Genetic Technologies. The report used “the principles of respect for human life and dignity” as its reason for recommending that various activities associated with genetic research and human reproduction be prohibited. The report said the prohibited activities were “contrary to Canadian values of equality and respect for human life and dignity.”

And who cares if you're one among many or just one. What does that have to do with intelligence? duh ... nothing.

In order for a civilized society to exist you must adhere to it's laws and rules, a social contract we all enter into. As a citizen of Canada you adhere to the laws of the state threfore you are one among many canadians. You really should have grasped a number of these concepts by now. confused

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Human beings have rights cinferred from ethics, only humans are rational, autonomous and self conscious. Animals will not sacrifice their own good for the sake of others. It's more than a concept. For example, in order to achieve the kind of dignity and self-respect that human beings have, a being must be able to conceive of itself as one among many, and must be able to choose his actions rather than be led by blind instinct

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Yes that's communication not language (see earlier post) religion, ethics, science, literature encompasses language not mere attempts at communication.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

The degree to whick koko understands is controversial to say the least. Lot of critiscism i could post here if i was arsed.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Also these things aren't necessarily useful, if I was to leave you one on one with a pack of lions, the bible, hawkings latest book and a vincent van gogh aren't gonna be much use to you.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Communication is undisputed, language is needed for ethics, literature, science, religion. etc. Therefore not exactly intelligent.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Again more reading on the limits of evolution.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Language is the key to measuring intelligence in this, monkeys have no language, we are the only ones on earth with a language.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Some reading for you

and the book it shows the limits of evolution. It is a fact in a loose scientific way. It cannot account for the level of evolution required in Darwinism.

RE: Stephen Hawking can't use physics to answer why we're here

Well should they not have evolved into a more intelligent life form if the theory is true?
