I agree, it's so frustrating to know a lot of people no longer keep their promise on a handshake. It seems that trust went out the window along with morals and ethics.
My 100 year old Bible has many predictions about the future as well as some interesting chapters writen by female prophets that have been deleted from many modern religions.
I've attended churches of different faiths and I like the people mostly. The problem is some folks think they have the answer and there's no room for discussion. Also, there are various bibles printed to support the dogma of that particular faith. I feel that I can disagree with most Christian Bibles because I have one of the original Bibles translated from German into English dating back over 100 years ago. Also, the original Bible was taken from the writings of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Every 7 years the Bible is amended to fit modern society needs.
I've met a couple of ladies in the past online who were religious. One, we met at a donut shop where I bought a couple of donuts and coffee. She seemed to be a smart lady until I sat at the table facing her. The woman reached over took my hands and started praying aloud in front of everyone. Needless to say I didn't contact her anymore. Another woman I met started talking religion to me online. I respect evryone's opinion so I agreed mostly with her personal point of view in regards to world problems. Then she sent me a message about her dreams she had since childhood and having a burden trying to help others and asked me what I thought. I was honest in sharing my opinion about her being somewhat like a sheep without thinking for herself and her dreams were influenced by her blindness. She got angry and refused to communicate after that. Do real religious people act this way? Or is this a form of religious recruitment online?
Actually religion began with nature worship and the powers that be, nature or God, can't be changed by man's prayers or any other form of negotiation. We are not as smart as we think we are.
The problem with the Bible is that ever since the protestant reformation everyone is free to interpret and rewrite the Bible in any way they want. There is much evidence that show people who make predictions, sooth sayers and others who look into the future have been in existance since the human race began.
Love heals all, even in this case. It takes time to overcome the surprise but it's also a test for the quality of the relationship and comapassion both partners have for each other. The baby is innocent and had no choice in the matter.
I'm a senior, but I don't look like one, don't walk like one, can eat almost anything, live alone, active and fully employed, as well as out-performing younger employees, and yet the term "senior" is forced upon us as if we are disabled. Should "senior" be replaced with a different word?
Some folks believe there is a heaven and hell while others have no belief. The fact is nothing can be proven either way because you have to be dead to find out. Religion is important for some folks and not for others. As human beings we need each other no matter what. I experienced a certain something that convinced me that our spirit never dies. Do you believe in an afterlife?
I was hired by the government to design a program in a remote community to help a notorious people. Once employed I discovered secret hidden documents that were supposed to have been distroyed prior to my arrival. Government funding for these people amounted to 5M a year.I felt anger about my tax money going to this deception and I foolishly notified the government about my discovery. They informed the local directors about my letter. All hell broke loose. The chairman of the board took my keys and locked me up in my office while they distroyed all my documents. For 6 months I couldn't leave the building or contact anyone outside except for government officals, they told me it was a personal problem and they couldn't help. After the six months of hell I quickly left. In shock after arriving home I discovered I lost everything, bills and interest mounted, all personal possessions were lost and/or theft and unemployed without money, I was forced to live on the street and claimed bankruptcy. I've reinvented myself since then but I'm not the same man I was. What is your worst experience?
A thread was put up earlier regarding how great women are. I have an overwhelming desire to say how great MEN are. I love you all good and bad. You completee and fulfill my life in so many ways. to you all.xxxxx[/quote Male + female = emotional balance
I've been living alone since my divorce over 15 years ago and I enjoy my piece and quiet. Sometimes I think about having a significant other in my life but so far most women I met don't fit what I'm looking for. I don't need a woman but at times I think it would be nice to have someone who cares for you. Are you trying hard to find someone?
It depends on the person. For myself I've dated someone younger than me and we loved each other dearly. However, within weeks I realized she would have a better future with someone closer to her age so she can feel free to do what people her age do without worry for her aging partner. But that's just me, I have no interest in younger women because I feel paranoid and have no interest in what I consider as kids on a learning curve in their stage of development.
The term "love" has many meanings and it's difficult to express the real feelings in the English language. I consider myself spiritual but I experience love in a more profound way.
Hi, I'm new here but was a member a long time ago. Took some time off for myself to enjoy some travel and relaxation. Thought I'd drop by just to say hello and hope to be part of this friendly family.
The sad fact is "all's fair in love and war." When it comes to killing and of all sorts of slaughter they have chosen not to respect the desire of their loved ones to live in peace. Those who live by the sword die by the sword!
RE: When someone's word & a handshake meant something.
