Actually, through the use of lobbyist & donations to campaigns, they essentally are influencing regulations, laws, and policy that do affect us. So basically they are our politicians and enforce their jurisdiction regularly (ever hear of eminant domain..many times property is seized by the government, for use by a commercial entity)..
As far as aspects of life, they do regulate that again through lobbyist. Look at how big business got the state of Wisconsin to union bust. that affected the lives of many.
I agree in that I believe George Anthony had something to do with it as well, as a matter of fact, I believe he was a main participant with Casey helping the coverup.
This would make sense because he could easily have been in contact with law enforcement (since he is prior law enforcement) on where they have searched and where they are searching (hence why the body was where it was AFTER they had already searched that area).
That is my theory however, and there really is no basis or evidence that conclusively can point in this direction.
In time her name recognition will fade because the media is all about the "story of now" more so than "the story of 1 year ago" and the attention span of Americans follows the media. So I don't have any doubt that she will get her life back to normal once the media circus is over.
I personally like I previously said support the verdict 100% regardless that I feel she had a role in what happened. The prosecution failed miserably at presenting its case and relied on the emotional impact that had been made in the media more so than actual evidence.
I think she may have had something to do with her daughters death, however, I feel as though the prosecution showed absolutely zero evidence, that conclusively point the finger at her. I think there was enough reasonable doubt to render a not guilty verdict.
I think this was a verdict no so much of "we think she is innocent", but more of a "the prosecution didn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt" and that is what the cornerstone of our criminal justice system is...Innocent until proven guilty BEYOND a reasonable doubt.
Again, I think she had something to do with it, however I agree 100% with the verdict of not guilty because I don't think the prosecution proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
To be honest, it happens in just about any social setting you get adults in....They revert back to High School shenanigans and drama ensues. Everyone draws to their little cliques and when someone is left out of it, they feel hurt for being left out or the people feel superior for being "in" and drama ensues...Just a fact of life really.
To be fair, he never said the U.S. owns it...However, we do have interests that need to be protected in that region and we have promised certain countries that we would help them protect theirs.
China has made it clear that they are willing to take Taiwan, by military force if necessary. The knockdown of our E-3 over international waters, the constant danger close buzzing of our aircraft by Chinese MiGs, and the harassment against our naval vessels in international waters is clearly documented. Do I think these are causes for an all out war? No, however, it does show that the Chinese military is aggressive, and the larger their military arm gets, the more aggressive they will become.
Now that all being said, I think the Pacific Ocean is big enough that we can all share it. It's just going to be a matter of time however before the 2 big kids on the block bump into each other on the sidewalk and throw down we one another.
The reason I say this is, why not complain about the 1500+ coal burning power stations? Surely they are doing much more damage equivalent to an hour of "your Vesuvius".
Personally I just think you don't like the smoke in your backyard, which is a valid point, however to be disingenuous and go on about "air pollution" is ridiculous.
