RE: Hey guys I am new here

Welcome to CS, hope you find what you seek here and yes, interesting would be a good word to define people here laugh

RE: hello to you - yes you

Welcome to CS wave

RE: So many miles apart

Glad you ask this question once more... I'm not being sarcastic here, truly...

When I first came to CS, I'd say within my area, after a couple of weeks I'd say almost anywhere in North America and now, I really don't mind where this woman could be... as long as I feel it might be the one, then so be it.

Distance is not a problem anymore.

RE: Do you have a favorite quote?

If it looks like sh** and if it smells like sh**, then don't try another sense, it is sh**

RE: New girl on the block

Welcome to CS, hope you find what you're looking for wave

Am I doing the right thing?

You're right. After five years, it's more than just "like". It's more like "love".

I know it will be hard in the futur to see this kid or her mom, but I'll try to keep in touch... Somehow I still feel that I must know where this kid is going to end up. Somekind of parents normal worries. I spoke of this with a friend, in the same situation as I am and he told me that his ex's kids are still "his kids" and that nothing will break the bonds he has with them.

Like I said, this feeling of "relief", as I know I did a good thing there, is wonderfull. It followed me during my vacation and now I know I'm up for something else and I feel more focused... hard to explain but I'm very satisfied :)

Am I doing the right thing?

Sorry for "upping" this old thread...

Just wanted to tell you guys that my vacations were great, I saw my "ex daughter in law" if the expression is correct and I also followed people's advice, like making gift and take all the time allowed with her.

It was something I had to do, I did it and I have no regrets. I'm almost relief in fact.

Thx everyone who advised me on this one thumbs up

RE: Do you have a favorite quote?

Yes!!! This is one indeed I use pretty often.

Another onen I use, but I believe it's international:

"Keep your friend close and your enemy even closer".

We're about to get a union where I work and the guys were telling how kind were the boss recently, so I said that. One of my friend then said that it was a very popular quote used in the movie The Godfather, but I told him it was also Sun Tzu in The Art of War.

RE: Do you have a favorite quote?

I do have some, in french tough, but I recently found this one that I like and I can't say why:

The hottest love has the coldest end.

RE: Canadian Cuisine

I like your menu, specially the tourtiere. The best form, in my opinion, is the one you can have in Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean.

Montreal smoked meat is hard to beat and with a real poutine, now you're in business laugh

And the thing that surprises me now, is to see all the french names for these recipe. Even in someone else's post: "tarte au sucre" wow

I thought there was an english term for each of these things but I'm really surprised!!!

Now I'd like to see my english teacher I got while I was in school and finally tell them: "See, a sheppard's pie is not good!!! Pate chinois rulezzzz!!!!"

RE: hi

Oh well... would be a good idea to ask her indeed... that is if I can overcome my --> blushing

Am I doing the right thing?

Good idea wink

Am I doing the right thing?

For the relation with her dad, I believe it's another thing... He's currently out of the country, his job brought him far. This happened before I broke up with her mother. She was not seeing her dad often, mostly during Christmas time and that's about it.

In a way, I've been the "father" she needed and I guess she needs one now... I know her well and when she caught me on MSN this morning, I think she wont accept it if I don't go visit her. Maybe there's nothing, but I fear there's something... I don't know but I guess the best thing would be to visit her a couple of hour at least.

Am I doing the right thing?

Unfortunately for me, you got the last part right: "if you can help it"...

She just told me on MSN that her dad is getting married and I think she's looking for the "man figure" since she doesn't have it anymore...

It might help my decision jan, thank's.

Am I doing the right thing?

I'll try to be brief and explain everything...

I'm single since july and before, I was living with a woman who has 2 children.

The youngest ( a girl ) knows I'm going to be in vacation soon... Since she knows I was going to be visiting my parents ( who currently live very far from where I live but close to her) ask me if I'd go visit her.

Somehow, after 5 years, I got attached to these children, I miss them and on the other hand, I don't know if I want to see her mother sigh

I haven't made any promise yet, but I told her I'd try to take a day or a couple of hours to see her and maybe do something if her mother agree but still...

Even tough I'm in good term with my ex, I'm still thinking that it might be better not to go there and go directly to my parent's home but...

That's where I am now, thinking if I should or shouldn't visit this young girl I learned to liked a lot sigh

RE: American Enlish versus British English

AWH!!! And I tought I was the only french living guy who had trouble to understand them...

But you are right, there's also regional dialect and even in Europe, in France for example... You chat with someone from Paris and another from Marseille and you might get lost pretty fast laugh

RE: No Pics... No Response???

There are a couple of things I hate, and one of them is to be ignored... So I don't do it to others. If I have a flower or an email, I answer.

I must admit that it's always more interesting to see the person you are chatting with, but I understand some people here who choose not to publish their pictures for good reasons.

Yeah applause

RE: hi

Nope! I confirm your doubts rolling on the floor laughing

RE: American Enlish versus British English

Don't worry Jan, I'm canadian, I learned english at school ( basicaly a form of english that suits canadian and american ) and I too have couple of problems with regional dialects like you said sigh

RE: hi

Hi wave

The age difference canadian people would accept...

I believe it's been ask on the international forum, but I was just curious about my canadian fellow, if I may say so.

What is the age difference you would accept for a man or woman?

In my case, I'd say 25 the lowest and 45 max... But it always depends on how you get along with the person I think...

RE: Dog's Diary vs. Cat's Diary

rolling on the floor laughing laugh

Even tough I'm more a cat lover than a dog lover, I must admit that this is really good and sometimes you can wonder if your cat is thinking this way roll eyes

RE: You Know How I Know You Got Kids.......?????

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

And when you try to be kind, say that you're brining everyone to the restaurant and you ask the kid wich one they want to go, the only answers you get are fast food restaurant sigh

Autumn blues?

Yeah... this stupid flu is getting everyone right now at my job, seems like I'm the only one left who doesn't have it. Just hope I wont get it in my vacation this monday.

And for these special tanning salon in Alberta, well that's a wonderfull idea for people who hates fall and winter I guess.

Autumn blues?

Does that exists in the other canadian provinces? My mother used to tell me that people are getting what she calls a "small fall or autumn depression" and she was always amazed how this thing was NOT affecting her beloved son laugh

In fact, I like autumn and that was one of the reason I'm taking my vacation next week.

RE: What Does Your Sign Mean To You....

I've told it in my profile I think but here's a good chance to specify what I meant laugh

If I'd rely on astrology, I'm an Aries, wich means that my best match would be a sagitarius wow

The sign I should avoid, if I'd stick to this would be cancer and two other I don't remember for sure.

And guess what? I go along well with any sign, any chinese sign... laugh My best friend is a cancer, I went out with a lot of woman that were cancer and the best sign I've dated is scorpio. They're fantastic lover, these woman look like angels outside but when your in the bedroom... devil The big aries becomes a little lamb angel

RE: Do you believe that some people enter your life for a lifechanging reason??

Yes I believe in that. I always wonder who will it be after...

RE: Men, how many children are "too many" in respects to dating?

My ex had 2 children. When we first start living together, I'd say they were respectively 12 and 7 y.o. She was and she's still a wonderfull mother so... Rather it's 1 or 5, if the woman knows how to deal with her kids and if the guy who decides to go out with such a woman is ready to learn ( that is if he doesn't have experience with children ), it's going to be perfect. wink
