No Pics... No Response??? (53)
I prefer knowing who it is I am talking to. So pics with no profiles do intimidate me a bit. But I do still take the time to read their profiles and reply back to those who do take the time to flower me and write to me. They are still people like us.
And if the person did offer to send me their pictures to my e-mail address then depending on how the conversation went between me and that person then yes I do give them my e-mail address. Not like I gave them my phone number and home address like some have to me in the past (I was like ARE YOU CRAZY!! LOL)

Well I wouldn't walk up to a complete stranger on the street and start telling them about myself...so i'm not sure why that is expected of us here on a dating site...
well, with that being said... one of the things i do like about meeting someone on the net first is that you get to know the person first... so maybe i would reply...

Of course looks play a part...no matter how much people try to deny it...no one walks up to someone they're interested in with a bag over their head hoping that person will be attracted to their personaility first...just don't know why it should be pushed on dating sites...

I try to reply to everyone that messages me. If they took the time to do that, I can take the time to respond. I find when a person has no picture, I ask for them to provide me with one on this site. Just put one up for a while so I can have a look. I am uncomfortable with giving out my e-mail address to just anyone (especially a complete ghost..no idea what they look like). I think that when men send me lewd comments (this is not rare), I just respond with a simple not interested and block them. I think it sends a clear message to them that that is not the way to attract attention, and if they are just playing around, they cannot message me again.
I reply to anyone who messages me. This is just a theory thus far as I have zero messages of that nature to date lol

As for the third paragraph, I don't care enough one way or the other if there is a work related reason, self esteem reason, not wanting an ex to see them reason or whatever to wory if it's true right off. If I were skeptical I'd be questioning whether the people with pics had real photos of themselves up in the first place.

I do not respond to any profile that has no picture. I realize that there are those who fake a ID,but the truth always comes out. I figure that I have my pic out there so it is only fair to see who you are talking to. appearence is really not as important as what is inside, but you have some attraction too
I respond to my messages receive whether the people have a posted picture or not. If its lewd - I'll tell them off, but luckily I haven't had these types of messages thus far. I think its also a matter of how you present yourself that sometimes determines the types of responses received.

I find it is perhaps better if they don't then you can actually get to know the person rather than go by what they look like, so yeah i would respond, wouldnt be the first time. Then you wouldnt start liking them because of their looks you actually take the time to see what the person is on the inside.

I respond to people who send me a message or a flower - with or with out a photo. Sometimes all the message is "Thank you for the flower". So far, I haven't had to deal with anyone being rude or ignorant to me. If I did - I would block them. L.
I totally agree with that. I like to keep mine hid lately because I am tired of some guys getting in touch & not wanting to show there pic. So I took mine down. But if we were to chat and he asked for one I would put one up for the mailing purpose. But only if he did. I would want his first & after I seen his I would. But I would be leary to give mine fist incase he tricked me as some have. And as you said *how do we know it's not a phoney* could be anyones pic that is being displayed.

If you are contacted by someone for the first time with a lewd or suggestive message...do you respond..either way...to them?
I know there are some who will say that due to the "field of work" they are unable to post a pic (do you buy that?...is there companies out there that prohibit their single empolyees from joining a dating site???) but if you send your email they will send a pic for you...do you give out your email that casually?
