You're absolutely right Mychelle...the picture posted may not be of them at all...however if the intention here is to "meet" people wouldn't that become apparent at some point...

And personally i feel those that post misleading pictures or no pictures have way more to hide than mere "appearances"...JMO

what about those who are unable to get pics of themselves on their profiles? like i don't have a scanner and none of my friends do either and so i am unable to get a pic on the computer and on my profile. it's not like i'm going to go up to someone and say: hey do u have a scanner so i scan a pic of myself and send it to my e-mail so i can post it in profiles i have in websites? plus i'm a very shy person and i don't like getting my pic taken unless it was for like a family photo or something but even then i hate having my pic taken. it is very rare that u see me wanting my pic taken. if there is a promise of getting a copy of that pic sent to me via e-mail and snail mail then yea i would get it on a profile or 2 but it isn't right or fair to judge those who don't have a pic.

Yours may be a valid reason...but its not going to be every single person who doesn't have a picture on here's reason....

I personally did not have any type of picture of myself until i joined the site (I didn't see the point...I already know what i look like!)...realizing there was some benefit/necessity in having a picture I did have a friend take some..and then eventually got my web cam...

The moderators also allow you the option of sending any picture to them and they will crop and fix it to suit for your profile...

In any case..it is a matter of personal choice, no argument there from me...

I reply to ALL mail and flowers sent to me. If someone takes the time to make contact (pic or no pic) the least I can do is reply. If it's a lewd message "no thanks" usually is enough.

I've had bad experiences posting my own pic so I choose not to, but if someone where to ask for it and I felt comfortable with the that situation I would share a pic with them.

I'm sorry for your experience...can't say i've had a really "negative" response to mine...i have had some "comments"..however i choose to overlook them because i am quite aware I can't please all the people all the time...and i'm not about to even try...

However, just curious...does that mean you respond mostly to those without pics as well???

I try to respond to all... pic or not.. Like I said if someone takes the time to write to me it only seems right to write back. Not responding sort of defeats the purpose of coming to a site like this.

I think part of the problem I had in the past with posting my pic was that I wasn't "mature" enough to handle the "requests" for different kinds of pics. I didn't know how to "just say no". I started to feel that no one was willing to talk to me with out lewdness being a part of it. I haven't chatted or joined forums in years. I had to grow up first. I am who I am and I can say "no thanks" and move on. I had to realize that there are people who are willing to get to know me with out wanting those kinds of pics.
(I'm not sure that makes sense)

I would respond if there is no picture. I don't know what difference that makes.
I would definetly not respond to lewd.

I do understand what you're saying...when i first started out i found that i spent more time just responding to message (both good and bad) than really being part of a dating site and/or forum...so yes it takes time to "learn the ropes" on a site...

However, my question to you was really about the "no pic" aspect...as you said you have your reasons for not having a picture up...as do some men, do you initiate contact with male profiles that have no picture??
