I don't know what the land tugging record is, but in the water its seventeen large men in a rowing boat, so he could easily pull me to the shops in a little 'dog-cart', if we had anything in the shops worth going to collect that is.

This wasn't a Repsol garage, but no one will boycott any garage here at the moment, the time for that will come when the strike is over.cheering

RE: chat--- gossip

Just been to the shops, no bread, bought bread flour and yeast, will make my own, allowed €10 of petrol, but that has gone from €1.10 a litre yesterday(when there was none) to €1.229 today, who has been hoarding the fuel stocks then?, because there has been no delivery.

The strikers are threatening a 40 day strike and this is only day 3

RE: The Say Something thread.. say something to someone. (and how about no arguing on it?)

so the news says, its causing havoc over much of Europe at airports as Spain is only accepting around 1/3 of the usual inbound flights, and some airports have closed completly

RE: The Say Something thread.. say something to someone. (and how about no arguing on it?)

mainly, yes. and Spain is currently hosting an EEC summit meeting, so the protesters are out in force against the rise in the cost of living in general, on the news there are now 90.000 lorries abandoned on the road, all out of fuel, and rioters have set fire to tyres laid across the autovia near to Valencia

RE: The Say Something thread.. say something to someone. (and how about no arguing on it?)

I know, I can manage without a lot of things, but not chocolate

RE: The Say Something thread.. say something to someone. (and how about no arguing on it?)

first serious strike here for more than 8 years, but no fresh food at all today, lorries abandoned all over the autovia, run out of fuel

RE: The Say Something thread.. say something to someone. (and how about no arguing on it?)

RE: At the mortuary

mmm I do know someone who buried the wrong husband, she said it wasn't her husband but the undertaker said she was just upset, so they buried him, the other people wouldn't be fobbed off with the same story though, so they had to exhume and rebury

RE: leaders that rule

Yes, I heard that also, However he must have sufficient money stowed away that one of the other African nations would take him?

RE: leaders that rule

If I gave my honest opion of Robert Mugabe here, I would be booted, sufice to say, I did not enjoy having to drive into deep water ditches to allow him and his entourage to pass by. He is a despot, and cares nothing for his people only himself and his 'friends' who help keep him in power.
