My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all The morning rain clouds up my window and I can't see at all And even if I could it'd all be grey, but your picture on my wall It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad
I drank too much last night, got bills to pay, my head just feels in pain I missed the bus and there'll be hell today, I'm late for work again And even if I'm there, they'll all imply that I might not last the day And then you call me and it's not so bad, it's not so bad and
I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life
Push the door, I'm home at last and I'm soaking through and through Then you hand me a towel and all I see is you And even if my house falls down, I wouldn't have a clue Because you're near me and
I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life
Nahhhh... seriously, you have a point, BD, of course! I am only too happy to offer empathy, support, a hug, and my viewpoint (for what its worth!) and have done so many times on and off the site but I don't caress egos and I do not pander to attention-seeking!
As for some that are first (and therefore introductory) threads.... geez, c'mon already!!
I wasn't clear that it had to be someone immediately recognisable by their photo, nor that it had to be someone still alive...... where did I miss that then?
I believe Robert Oppenheimer is dead, yes.... and as Galileo was 16th century, I'm almost certain he'll be dead!! And I defy anyone to come up with a photo of him......
Blimey.... looks like English language course too, eh??
Okay.........
Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist, a notable force on The Manhattan Project, he developed the first A Bomb, but when he saw what was happened at Nagasaki and Hiroshima, he was horrified, realising what he had achieved and said “I have become the destroyer of worlds." I’ll never forget that quote………… thanks a lot, Robert!!
Galileo was an Italian astronomer, also philosopher and scientist who made improvements to the telescope and major contributions to kinematics (that bit I don't fully understand). It was his discovery (I believe?? Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this) of four of the satellites of Jupiter, and did much work on improving the compass. Quite a guy…!!!
As for Sir Walter Raleigh... he has to be responsible for more deaths throughout history EVER, doesn't he??! Mmmmm......
To be frank, when I see some of the threads and posts around (not this one, I hasten to add), I do wonder if its due to a full moon....??!! Gosh.... it has to be down to something, eh??!
BTW..... Rosa Parks and Christopher Columbus may have been directly linked to the US but they still made their impact on the world, didnt they? Just as William Wilberforce was from the north of England but we wouldn't be where we are today without him, eh?
Yep..... 'fraid so!! Snow, torrential rain, storms, gales.... you name it!! One friend ended up getting struck by lightning whilst out there...... ya see, smoking is hazardous to your health, ain't it??!!
There is a Methuselah Tree, only found in North America... in fact, there are only 4. Well, there were......... apparently a scientist doing experiments on one of the trees ended up killing it, so only 3 in existence. It is so called because, believe it or not, it is something like 4,000 years old!!
Despite its longevity throughout whatever this planet and Mother Nature gets thrown at it, it remained tenacious and stead-fast......
I would replace the 4th tree that jerk destroyed!!! A symbol of the wisdom the tree maintains and humans clearly don't.......
No.... I didn't say that I did!! As a matter of fact, I always smell good, thank you. And the 'phone is okay, its just the charger cable...... and I wouldn't say "leave it until tomorrow" anyway!! Ugly...???
Perhaps, I didn't make myself clear enough?? Mmmmm... clear enough now??
RE: Do you love.............your ex???
Do I love my ex...?? In a word........ no!!
