For my money Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra - Closely followed by Peggy Lee. Nat "king" Cole who was no mean singer and a Jazz pianist as well. I also Like Dianna Krall, the late Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.
I am sorry to hear that - But many women on CS are liars and time wasters so it is the same for some of us men, who, given the opportunity -- Do not swing the lamps and can actually prove what we write on our profiles.
** How will you divvie up everything when you reach the end of the road?**
1. Financially - Not a lot. What I have I intend to use for what I need.
2. What spare loot is left after I kick the bucket and any debts are done, will be sold and the proceeds going to what I consider more positive productive sources than relatives.
3. What that is specifically remains my business but my Job Title and Major Interests might provide a clue.
NO - Being agnostic since the age of 17 when we were legally required to state religious beliefs in the Services, it also means I do not believe in God in the omnipotent sense, and "after life theory" or Theology.
Since that age I have always concentrated on practical matters, Hobbies and interests from which I get great pleasure and see positive results.
Sad Day - Very talented musician as well as a singer
Davy Jones was a great bloke and Avant Garde regarding Pop at the time I met him. I was working with Big Bands, Jazz groups and a 6 piece MoR band at the time he was playing with a band Called "Oliver Twist and the Lower Third" when it formed.
I Knew their drummer, Les Mighall, as I gave him lessons when he first started playing drums when I was in the RAF Fighter Command band in 1958-1960 when I cam home to Ramsgate on leave.
"Oliver Twist and the Lower Third" was formed in 1963 in Margate and Disbanded in January 1966 Members -- Davy Jones (aka Bowie) (vocals, Tenor saxophone, Alto saxophone, 1965-66), Denis 'Tea-Cup' Taylor (Lead guitar), Graham Rivens (Bass), Les Mighall (Drums, 1963-65), Phil Lancaster (Drums, 1965-66)
