RE: Saudi Arabia

Fimally the son of the murdered Journalist was sent to meet with Prince MBS yesterday for a photo session to show how sad the Prince is for the Sons loss. Note, the son has been banned from leaving Saudi Arabia. Also I feel the guard with his hand ready to draw his gun lent a friendly non threatening atmosphere to the occasion where a son was forced to meet the man who ordered his father to be dismembered alive.

Saudi officials refuse Turkish police search at well in Istanbul consulate: Anadolu

Saudi officials have refused to allow Turkish police to search a well in the garden of the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul as part of the investigation into the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the state-run Anadolu news agency said on Wednesday.

Authorities have previously carried out inspections at the consulate and consul general's residence in Istanbul as part of the investigation. After weeks of denial, Saudi Arabia at the weekend said the journalist had been killed at the consulate.

So, that got the Turks attention so they forced the issue. Guess what they found?

'Jamal Khashoggi body parts found in well in Saudi consul general's home'

Jamal Khashoggi went missing on October 2 after enterring the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

After weeks of sepcualtion, officials have now confirmed the journalist is dead - and now it is believed his body has been discovered as an investigation into his death got underway.

Dogu Perincek, leader of Turkey's Rodina party, claimed in an interview his body parts were discovered in Istanbul during forensic searches.

He claimed the remains had been found in a well the garden of the Saudi consul general’s home.

And a ‘highly placed’ source told Sky News the writer had been “cut up” and his face “disfigured.”

The 57-year-old was last seen entering the Saudi Arabia consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

The news comes after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the person who ordered the death of the prominent Saudi journalist must “be brought to account.”

He said Turkey would not complete its investigation into Khashoggi’s death until all question were answered.

RE: Saudi Arabia

Turkey seems to be angling to replace the Prince by appealing to the King

The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has publicly torn down Saudi claims that the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi died in a fight in its Istanbul consulate, making fresh allegations that his death was a premeditated murder and calling for an independent investigation.

In the hotly anticipated address at the Turkish parliament in Ankara, in which the president had promised to reveal the “naked truth” about what happened to Khashoggi, Erdogan said he was not satisfied with Riyadh’s version of events of what happened and called for the “highest ranked” of those responsible to be brought to justice.

Tabling new allegations that Saudi officials scoped out rural areas outside Istanbul the day before Khashoggi’s murder, the president said Riyadh’s suggestion that the killing was a rogue extradition operation gone wrong was unsatisfactory and Turkey’s investigation was ongoing.

“To blame such an incident on a handful of security and intelligence members would not satisfy us or the international community,” Erdogan said. “Saudi Arabia has taken an important step by admitting the murder. As of now we expect of them to openly bring to light those responsible – from the highest ranked to the lowest – and to bring them to justice.”

RE: Right-wing conservative insanity

Sorry, we got that Potato Killing Plague from Canada. banana

And I hate to shock you, but since this references "THE IIIIMIGRANTS ARE GETTING YOUR HAAANDOUTS!!!" myth, Ill just repost this because this is a complete myth.

“The RAISE Act prevents new migrants and new immigrants from collecting welfare and protects U.S. workers from being displaced. They’re not going to come in and just immediately go and collect welfare. That doesn’t happen under the RAISE Act. They can’t do that.” — in a news conference in the Roosevelt Room at The White House, Washington, DC, August 2, 2017

Thing is? This wasn’t a new policy Trump was proposing. It’s already the law. Bill Clinton signed such a bill over 20 years earlier in 1996: The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, or “IIRIRA.” Congress legislated that not only would undocumented immigrants not receive welfare, but legal immigrants wouldn’t get benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid or money for child assistance until they’ve lived here at least five years and even seven years after their arrival.

What Undocumented Immigrants Receive vs. What They Don’t

To be clear, there are many different types of benefits a resident of the United States can receive. Let’s take a fact-based look at what benefits undocumented immigrants do and do not receive then in the United States.

Here’s a listing of benefits undocumented immigrants expressly do not receive:

Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP)

Disability, aka Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Food stamps, aka The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Health insurance, aka insurance via the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Medicaid

Medicare

Social Security

Welfare

Here’s what undocumented immigrants may be eligible for:

Emergency medical care, including ER visits and Emergency Medicaid

Schooling

Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

Let’s hope that overwhelming majority of us can embrace the humanity of these immigrants and assume that?—?like anyone else who shows up at an ER?—?the should receive emergency care. Follow-up care? Not so much. Also, Emergency Medicaid accounts for less than 1 percent of the Medicaid budget.

That means that undocumented immigrants receive may receive some (very few) benefits while living in the United States. It’s quite another thing, however, to suggest they’re stealing any benefits from American citizens.

How Undocumented Immigrants Contribute

Any examination of the benefits undocumented immigrants receive would be woefully incomplete without considering what they also contribute.

In reality, immigrants typically pay far more in taxes than they receive in benefits. And that includes undocumented immigrants. Makes sense. Not only do they simply not qualify for many benefits, but undocumented immigrants also tend to keep a low profile and may not seek benefits they possibly could legitimately receive as a result. However, every year millions of undocumented immigrants not only do pay taxes, they even file their tax returns.

According to a 2010 report by the American Immigration Council, undocumented immigrants pay as much as $90 billion in taxes but receive just $5 billion in benefits. The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) estimated that in 2010 undocumented immigrants paid as much as $10.6 billion in state and local taxes alone.

RE: How Do you want to be caress?

Ah the sweet caress of a frying pan.

RE: Right-wing conservative insanity

The timings irrelevant. These caravans have been moving for the better part of a year and a half. Its like saying the phase of the moon is suspicious because of the US elections.

And the Democrats are not "Flat lining" either. WHy the hell would they finance something like this that could ONLY encourage fearful republican voters and the "IMMIGRANTS ARE INVADING!!!" Rhetoric that Trump has been blowharding for the last year and a half. Its the REPUBLICANS that have been screaming about Immigration and "OPEN BORDERS" and you are saying that the Democrats would be the people that would be presenting them with a gift wrapped up in Trump hysteria?

If you are going to have paranoid conspiracies, make ones that make a lick of sense.

RE: Right-wing conservative insanity

This article talks about who is helping the various Caravans. Again, I cant copy and paste from it but the link is here.

Despite the title which right winders were screaming meant there was a HUGE caravan on its way, its actualy talking about several different gtrouls, over half of which haven't arrived at the south Mexican border yet.

You will note that nowhere does it say that the Democrats or republicans or foreign billionaires are spending money to care for them. Its a mixture of the State, the Catholic Church and Help groups. Some of which may be financed by outside interests, but there really is no way of knowing either way.

Its always good to have a bit of Clarity rather than rampant speculation, especially looking at things from a totally US Perspective and thinking that it can only be influenced by what is going on in the US and by US people.

RE: Right-wing conservative insanity

(a) how do you know they are not financing it? There are a lot more Billionares feeding ther Republican party than the Democrats

(b) Its not a binary choice between the Republicans and Democrats to be feeding them. There are organisations in Honduras and Mexico that have nothing to do with either American party.

(c) There are rich people in the Central American countries that are not George Soros and have no alignment with American Politics. For example The Catholic Church has been feeding and caring for them iun various places

(d) they are nowhere near the American Border, and point of fact most of them will be deported from Mexico before they even get near the American Border. Mexico is not a small place,

Mexico deports almost twice as much migrants as the US does, and does it long before they reach the American border. I cant copy and paste from this as they have it blocked, but you can read the figures at this link

For example between Jan 2015 to Sept 2018 the USA Deported 293000 central Americans and Mexico deported 436,000 central Americans. SO saying that you will suddenly ahve all those people tirning up at the border like Trump is claiming is just not true.

RE: Trump Prophecy

That's fantastic. but you stops quoting at the point that would have made your Trump miracle look even worse.

"The weekly earnings measure is based on a survey that asks full-time wage and salary workers how much they usually make in a week.

Wages have been the missing piece of America's economic recovery, with flat or very slow growth depending on which measure is used. Even the White House Council of Economic Advisers only found a 1.4% increase over the past year using adjustments that take into account benefits and changes in the workforce that make wage growth look higher. "

Wow. No wonder you didn't want to mention the 1.4% increase which is FAR below the rate of inflation. That means that wages have gone down in the last year since the Tax cut that was touted as putting more money in peoples pockets. Which means that people are at a net negative for the year even with the slight increase in wages. And at the bottom of the story it mentions that layoffs have increased as well

"The number of job openings reached an all-time high of nearly 7.1 million in August, the Labor Department also reported on Tuesday. That keeps the number of unemployed workers per job opening at 0.9, which is as low as it's ever been.

The number of layoffs, however, edged up by 176,000 to 1.8 million in August. "

Yes I included the Paragraph before because I'm not afraid of facts. Like the fact that Amazon is instituting a $15 Minimum wage, which the Republicans are fighting against. All good stuff. But the Bottom line is the wage increase is not going to cover the amount of money that workers have lost in the last year since the Tax cut.

RE: Trump Prophecy

If that was the case you would be able to counter my links with your own that show the "benefits." But you cant. Every lie you spout is easily debunked. I'm not doing anything special. It takes me less than 5 minutes to find this stuff.

I mean look at this. I type in "wages are lower under Trump" because I already know wages have dropped since the tax cut and *bing* here's a link to prove it.

Sure if you are 0.01% things are fantastic, but for the majority of Americans things are getting worse under Trump. And I am able to back up what I say with solid facts, and you just have blind conviction that Black is really deep Purple. And thats not counting the mess he is making of foreign policy, which is affecting me.

And that's why people are breaking records to get to the polls for a midterm election. We will see in 2 weeks who real Americans are voting for.

RE: One Word Only

Sleep.

Its terrible when all the "lies" are backed up with links to solid facts, isn't it? laugh

Border Wall Nearly Collapses During Testing, 13 Prototypes 'Breached' Along Mexican Border

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) report on President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall shows more than a dozen points were “breached” during tests along the Mexican border.

Prototypes for the barrier between Mexico and the U.S. failed to meet the standards of “non-penetrable,” with the recently released CBP report revealing that several test teams were able to breach sections of the wall. The heavily redacted report showed how the $20 million Otay Mesa border wall designs will need to undergo significant improvements before any construction plans can be implemented.

In at least one case, test crews were able to make the prototype wall completely “unstable" to the point of collapse.

Several breaching scenarios were tested by experts from CBP, U.S. Special Operations Command and members of the Marine Corps. The tactical teams tested whether they could breach, scale or otherwise penetrate the walls in a real-life scenario along the nearly 2,000-mile southern border. The report does not mention an effective remedy to stop tunneling as a way of bypassing the proposed border wall.

...

Guerrero said that one of the border wall mockups was so unstable following a breaching exercise that test administrators feared it would collapse entirely.
