The person that actually came up with that phrase was Alexis de Touckaville in the 1700s, and he was talking about republicans.
Its ok, I think you will find that Thomas Jefferson never wrote half the things the internet says he wrote. Or Ghandi, for that matter.
I agree with you, but Attaching that to "liberals" is way over-simplistic. I think its much more a culture of victimhood and outrage that has more to do with internet culture than anything else.
Well, as a man, its obviously not very pleasant reading that list of statistics. It's very hard not to feel judged by it. However, I have to balance that by the fact that (a) I dont hate being a man at all, nor do I feel I need to do so because other members of my gender have done horrid things, and (b) I have not raided my hand to a woman, ever. The closest I ever came to was when I was out woth my first GF, and our relationship was a bit strained, and I had 3 or 4 beers, and I got REALLY aggressive twoards her. I'm a big guy, so me being agressive is probably a scary sight When I sobered up I was shocked and resolved to never have that much to drink again, especially in the company of a woman. And I never have.
That said the same woman used to make me drink a glass of wine after that as apparently I get really cuddly after just one, so I think she forgave me.
On the first point, its true that man are responsible for the majority of domestic violence, but the British police released statistics last year that said that 40% of their domestic Violence calls were from men being attacked by their women.
40% is still a minority but its a very significant one. And thats not going into the whole thing that its really, really hard for men to admit to being attacked by the "weaker" gender, so that number could be skewed too. And the other thing is that the calls are often not taken seriously either.
