Good post Amelia!!...I really second this, that going cold turkey is not the best way, but the only way actually...because, as Amelia has pointed out, within 3 days, your physical cravings for nicotine have gone. This allows you to focus on controlling the psychological cravings better. Smoking one or two a day, while it sounds like an improvement, will never actually get you closer to really giving up completely. The only thing that does that, is giving up completely.
...as long as it only the sunglasses, ok??...Fallingman is rather conservative about how the waitresses dress....(or undress??!!..)...I'm a little more flexible...
While I sit here reading the newspaper in the late sun, enjoying this glorious cappuccinno.....I am seriously considering the wisdom of posting an ad here for a waittress for this establishment.........
...now...how would this ad be worded??....hmmmmmmmmm.......
I will never be able to read these exposés by members here without a feeling of horror and hopelessness for the human race...that's just the way it is...some things never change, least of all people..
Well, the fact that you had a good night says a lot, dinnit?....try to keep going...logic tells me that the next couple days you will feel like a basin of warm vomit with lumpy bits, and then things will start to dramatically improve from there on...just try and stick it thru, and break into new territory in your effort to give up the noxious weed. Just remember, the real battle is the one going on in your mind...that's where you are going to win or lose...so having one ciggie a day may be ok for now, but it still means that you don't have total control. First it's one, then you'll have a bad day, and it'll be three....and then...and then...you get the idea.
