Engliselegance, if you want something that is not permanent, you can buy the mosquito net mesh and cut it the size of the window. Then you get and sew velcro all around the mesh and glue velcro all around the window. Then you just velcro the mesh to the wall/window...the edges should be covered by any curtain/window treatment already in place. Not very difficult and it shouldn't be expensive, most of the materials can be bought at any art and crafts store.
we have what we call Miami Windows, with screens on the inside...I think you can buy the mesh and the metal frames and it would be a neat DIY project. Or buy mosquito nets and fit them over the windows

I don't have Medical Power of Attorney and I don't know if it is necessary here in Panama. I don't think my mom has one either. My aunt (my mom's sister) passed away recently (a week ago) and the doctors called the whole family (her 8 children) and my mom, to decide what needed to be done...but this was Public hospital and my aunt's granddaughter and her husband are both doctors and they were in charge of her care. So it really wasn't difficult and she was not responding to treatment and passed away peacefully.
But in my case, I am the eldest of my siblings, and I know they would come to me for a final decision. After my aunt passed away I talked to my mother and told her we need to sit down and get her things in order...I don't want to be rifling to her stuff when the time comes...
And I will do my own, and tell my children and my sister...not easy, not easy.

Well, let me put it to you bluntly: When you said "I love you" after a few dates, it scared the crap out of this American. Why? Two words: Green Card.

I am assuming that English is not your native language, so you used the word 'love' trying to mean 'deeply care', 'excited about you', 'really like you'...maybe if you had used one of those phrases he wouldn't have felt his single-status threatened...and maybe, just maybe would have told you that he also 'deeply cared', 'was excited about you' or 'really like you' back...
I found out that although most cultures used the word 'love' lightly, it carries a very deep and heavy meaning in English, and saying the 'L' world is such a big deal, that frankly, shouldn't be (such a big deal)
What you really meant to tell him was that you 'like him a lot' and 'you would like to continue getting to know him better'...but it came out as "I love you and I want a commitment from you before you leave"...
Just back off a little, give him some room to breathe and see what happens...
