Guys, keep in mind this is not going to happen for another year. but the seasons will be the same next year. I should have started planning a year ago, darn!
I want to the standing stones...and some medieval castles everything you guys have to offer.
I've heard that the train is much more expensive than flying so I guess flying it is!
The tours have a spanish speaking tour guide...but I'll be delighted to take a private tour with you Riz
Dublin and Scotland will have to wait for trip No. 2 then...or maybe I can extend the trip for an additional week so I can go for 3 days to Scotland (is that enough) and 3 days to Ireland (hope is enough) and then back to London and back to Panama.
I'm thinking that I will have to make more than 1 trip to Europe...looking at te pullmanturs circuits, there are so many places I want to go...I don't want to live anything out.
Would you be able to go to Madrid on a short trip, if I let you know with enough time in advance? I'll have like 3 days in Madrid, and the off to UK, then back to Paris and so on...
I am at the early stages of preparing my Euro-Trip. I decided on going with an established operator call Pullmanturs from Spain. I'll start here in Panama and my chosen tour is:Madrid-Burgos-Burdeos-Loire Valley(?)-Rouen-Calais/Dover-London-Folkestone-Paris-Bruges(Belgium)-Amsterdam-Cologne-Cruise on the Rhin-Frankfurt-Berlin-Prague-Budapest-Vienna-Klagenfurt-Venice-Padua-Florence()-Assissi-Rome<Napoli,Capri,Pompeii)-Pisa-Nice-Barcelona-Zaragoza and back to Madrid.
I think it covers pretty much everything. The whole trip lasts 32 days. A very long time to be on the road living out of one suitcase. I'll probably be going solo, or maybe my sister will want to join me, but so far I'm planning for one.
There are different prices for different seasons, and what they call mid-season is the most accomodating for me, in terms of weather. I don't want to go to Europe during summer, because I really want to experience a different climate, but I don't want to go either in the dead of winter
Can someone tell me when's Autumn in Europe? and if this is a good time to visit? I'm sure Spring would be loaded with tourists, I'm trying to avoid crowds as much as I can.
I would really like to visit Scotland, but is not included in the tour, any suggestions? I have a +/-36 hrs window when in London...
What da ya think? I'm planning on announcing this trip when I have all the bits and piecs put together, to see if I can meet any CSrs along the way.
I'm finally planning my Euro-Trip...The tour circuit I'm choosing arrives in London on a Thursday. I want to see the sights in London, of course, and I can do that Thursday and Friday morning. Friday afternon is off to do as I please and so is Saturday. I would have to be back in London Sunday really early to go on the tour bus to go to Folkestone and take the eurotunnel to Paris.
My question is: Am I crazy to think that I can go to the highlands in such short time? At least make it to Edimburgh and/or Glasgow.?
How long does it take to go to Scotland by train? Is there an easier <not too expensive> way to do this?
Suggestions? On London-Scotland (I really want to go to Scotland!)

I am constantly amazed and in awe of the strength we humans have for recovery. Doc... I'll keep you in my prayers. To read the post of what happened to you and the update you have given us, makes me smile, and see my own issues under a new light.
You are a very strong person...and for those of us that think we are having it rough...think again...and take a page out of this brave man's book.
YOU BET! I am told that the Sheriff also issues pink boxers, towels and slippers... believe me, You'll be out of that pink uniform in no time, just to see those pink boxers...
If you don't fit in them, don't worry...the pink boxers will do...
Can't you accumulate some more vacation days or take a leave ob absence without pay, so you can stay in NYC longer? The cultural offer there is unbelievable! And 4 days is just too little time.
I'd suggest that you book some city tours before you get there, you don't know the place, you probably don't know anyone there and you want to make the most of your time and see as much as you can.
And, this is non of my business, but I'm quite sure that the airfare from Manila to NYC is quite pricey...is it worth it to invest that money and only stay in NYC for 4 days?
Is like me wanting to go to Europe...only the ticket is around $2000...I a'int going unless I can afford to stay a month in Europe, and get my money's worth...
But I like your idea better... moving around a bit...but when the time comes that I have to live in a retirement home/community and have to be taken care of...I know my kids are going to want me close...or maybe not.
If I win the Millionaire money I'll put it away and get the financing for a retirement home/community... so I'll be in a place exactly like I want it. And here in Panama.
It has to be a place with a totally different climate than where I live right now, it would have to be somewhere cooler and drier...maybe some mountain but with temperate climate, not the brutal winters of northern USA...
I'm thinking Australia Queensland is it? the temperate state?
and I know I won't be able to live without a major city close by and internet access, so, close to major town with lots of cultural offers and internet access and many channels on my cable...
I have tried to put together a reunion here in Panama for those who live here and in Costa Rica... no interest whatsoever...and there is a bunch of real good looking guys and gals...I think we could have a lot of fun together here... Actually, I've never seen in the forums anyone from Panama, 'xcept me...
I think I'll try again when the summer is closer...
HAve you read Anne Rice's "The Witching Hour" and its sequels "Lasher" and "Taltos"? She then goes further ahead and ends her Vampire Chronicles and her Witches Saga, mixing the two...Lestat makes a Vampire out of one of the Mayfair witches...
I like the Mayfair Witches better than the Vampire Chronicles...
I don't have that many words in my limited English vocabulary, but those are my sentiments exactly... I have seen the movies to put a face to the characters...but I don't like them...specially the last two. I think the books are too complex with too many sub-plots to be able to roll them in a 2 hr film...
I would have wanted to see Tim Burton's take on Order of the Phoenix or Half Blood Prince...or actually in Deathly Hallows... that would have been a movie worth watching... as it is I'm not that excited about Deathly Hallows in spite that they are doing it in two parts in order to accomodate the complex story line...let's see what comes out of it.
MY EURO-TRIP
