Many years ago in Corfu went out on a local boat for a trip up the coast, pulling in at little coves and exploring underwater caves. The boat owner was an avid pulp catcher. When he got one he climbed back aboard the boat and to kill it simply bit into it,s vitals..

Heard another story here in Spain. Man went for a walk by some rocks, looked into a hole and saw an octopus. So he put his arm in to get it and it got such a hold on his arm he couldn,t get it back out, it was a lot bigger than he had realised.

Then the tide started to come in. Coast guard was sent for and they tried to help, all to no avail. Eventually he was given a choice; drown or lose his arm. Not much of a choice.
