First, hey Awesome how ya doin, good to see ya back.
Second; many years ago Sparrow hawks in the uk became a protected species due to dwindling numbers. A few decades of protection sorted the problem out and the population of sparrow hawks increased. Guess what, when sparrow hawks went into decline the sparrow population increased massively. Now the Sparrow hawks are doing well.....sparrow population is decreasing. It,s not only humans who cull other species.
If what you lost was not worth having then you have not lost a thing. If however you lose something of value, but in the process gain something else then you have a trade off to mitgate the loss.If you lose something of value and gain nothing in the process then you truly are a loser.
Personally I have lost many times things which at that time I valued very much. However, I have gained some degree of human understanding and a revaluation of myself. I have gained inner strength, I have discovered inner resources I didn,t even know I had. Was the trade off worth it? Yes,yes, yes. Would I go back and re-trade to regain what I lost? No,no,no! Life is a transaction and I,m massively in profit (no,not money or material possessions).
In the end,Rusty, you are right " everything is for the best of all possible worlds."
I entirely agree,I ALWAYS ask who,s going whenever I,m invited anywhere, whether I,m going or not. It,s not rude. There may well be somebody going who I would prefer to avoid or who I really want to see.
The nicest country I know is the one inside of me. My internal landscape is to die for. How many times I have to say it,s what.s inside that counts.Eg;some people live in a geographical paradise but have a crap world view inside. I got lucky I suppose,it,s beautiful in and out. Careful,Rusty,Lisa,Lago, etc.
No,I,m saying it would take only one good one to make me happy.Watch my lips......
Course I fancy loadsa women, doesn,t mean I want em all,not at the same time anyway. Gawd can you imagine a full chorus of " you haven,t done the dishes"
Oh yes a Cuban Havanna, hand rolled on the milk white thighs of a beautiful maiden of good repute and.....no this is almost too much to ask for Hoots. But one day.....
Hoots, you should know me by now enough to know that an excellent bottle of red wine,a little patatas a la pobre and Wagner is really all I need to be rich.
First, thanks for your good wishes. Second re battle scars,oh yes,got plenty of those I,m afraid, the ones you can,t see, that,s the ones that hurt the most. But this old hulk will keep on grinding forward, creaking and groaning, but still afloat and highly seaworthy. The good ship Elley is blessed with resilience, thank god.
Oh yes I want to feast, but I,m a man of modest expectations,I know my comfort zone. Not one for showing off the excesses of my successes. Rich and famous? No way.Rich and anonymous? Yes please.
