This gentleman should have just professed his opinion. True firefighters care not about politics nor religion...they care only to serve and protect and get off on the sheer power of fire...his opinions may hold merit....but not in regards to fighting fire...

Fire-fighting is without prejudice or mind...it is a slef-less mission to protect ALL!

Afghanistan and the Northern Areas of Pakistan...what a treasure trove of nature's finest gemstones! Until it got too hot and heavy (same reason I will not venture into Colombia for emeralds...)...

My word....such natural treasures in this region....

Aquas, topaz, kunzite, tourmaline....world-class!

Indeed, most refugee situations are induced by internal strife...the key is to show humanity towards the actual innocents without importing the root cause of the strife that caused them to flee!

I work closely with and live amongst the First Nations...tis a huge and enflamed topic...point of interest....I can introduce you to some who would go ballistic on the mere fact you stated, as a white-woman...that it was OUR country....we are in trespass!

Yes, Canada is indeed sympathetic to refugees, and yes, there is an ever on-going discussion regarding First Nations in this country. I could start a separate forum regarding this matter, for Canada, the US....we all have our moments when it comes to the so-called indigenous races. And no, the USA is just as culpable and remains as such, as does Canada, to this day. As I say, it is a forum unto itself. There have been "rights" and "wrongs by both countries and both sides.

I have owned many dogs and cats over the years,...but Moose....he was a NFC,...and he was indeed special (only cat I ever owned that could play the saxophone!) All of the pets I have owned were unconditionally the best and most special! I miss them all....except for this whining mutt begging to go outside right now! Geez,dog! Rather deal with a popcorn farting Grizzly cub!
