RE: The murky science of dating terminology.

Everybody look up "AVERAGE height and weight" for your country. Because some countries are getting fatterstuck and taller.

I may never be able to post in USA again... laugh But it is true.

In Your Dictatorship

Whoa, that is alot of analysis for someone waiting 22 years for a wall.
And English as the official language.

The rest of my list was just humor .. like extra holidays for mothers laugh

In Your Dictatorship

Dictator - a person exercising absolute power, especially a ruler who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government without hereditary succession.

Since a dictator, would have far more power than a president; what would be some of the things you would do or change? professor

*Serious or comical or outrageous .. as dictator you can always change your mind or add to it later* dancing

Mega Millions Lottery

No Mega Millions Winner, Jackpot Climbs to $1.6 Billion

Next drawing is Wednesday

It costs $2 to play the game, but the odds of winning the jackpot aren't good. The chance of matching all six numbers and taking home the grand prize is one in 302.5 million.
(You are more likely to become the next president of the United States. Odds...1 in 10 million)
The game became harder to win last October, when a redesign upped the price to $2, NBC News reported. The odds of winning the Mega Millions dropped from 1 in 258.9 million to 1 in 302.6 million, making it more likely that jackpots would rise to astronomical amounts. The redesign also gave players better odds of winning smaller prizes, like $1 million

If it seems that the lines have gotten longer with every lottery drawing or that jackpots have grown larger, that's because they have.

Mega Millions now stands as the largest jackpot in U.S. history after moving past the $1.586 billion Powerball drawing on January 13, 2016.

And sales figures are hard to exaggerate. One local Nebraska newspaper reports that tickets sold at a rate of about 400 per minute on Friday. In California, the lottery Thursday sold 5.7 million during the first half of the day. Mega Millions tickets can be purchased in 44 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands

RE: Saudi Arabia

(13:12) Something strange is happening in Saudi Arabia

RE: Saudi Arabia

I agree. Especially after all the articles saying 'Canada wants to play a bigger part on the world stage'. Then they can't expect the United States or any (English speaking country) to run in and save them, when they comment or criticise or pass judgement, on world events.
If the Saudis are pissed or pull up stakes .. oh well, roll eyes welcome to that world stage.

RE: British Man Jailed For Eating Crisps In Front Of Muslim

laugh Everyone mark their calender

It was May 17, 2018.

Here is the next one...
Ramadan in 2019 will start on Monday, the 6th of May (6/5/2019) and will continue for 30 days until Tuesday, the 4th of June.. Note that in the Muslim calander, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Muslims will celebrate Ramadan on the sunset of Sunday, the 5th of May

In elementary school I learned both. Although these days... they may not teach that anymore (with "Common Core" dumbing children down)

Domestic Migration

There are more people fleeing some states than are coming in. Especially California, New York.

In default: Illinois, Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey.

There are many reasons for this: no affordable housing, no jobs, extreme taxation, crime (also, external migration, sanctuary cites & politics)

The top 8% of the (so called) "elite" own 85% of the global wealth.
The top 7% own 45% of global wealth.
The top 0.2% own 50.1% of global wealth

RE: People Are Crazy

This is sick in so many ways.
But what is standing out most is the student who signed an agreement with the school.
His/her, and the parents rights have been violated.
It is illegal and null and void, in the United States for a minor to enter into a contract of any kind without both parents signature.
I hope there is a lawsuit.

RE: hard done by

Deep question. But too personal to answer online, because the cards we were dealt would have to go back to our parents (or even before).

I suppose anyone could say, they were dealt a bad hand. As an adult, my view is 'What have we overcome and become (with those cards).
And what cards have we given our own children? I am certainly proud of mine.
