Authorities uncovered a tunnel outfitted with solar panels, lighting, ventilation, two sump-pump systems (within the tunnel to pump out any water that gathered) and a rail system rail system (that ran the entire length of the tunnel), that could carry illegal aliens, arms dealers and drug smugglers from Mexico into the United States.
The cross-border tunnel was discovered near Jacumba California. Authorities made the discovery in mid-September and said the tunnel’s entrance, in Baja California, Mexico, was just 221 feet south of the U.S. border.
Mexican State Police, State Preventive Police and Mexican military forces found the tunnel’s entrance during an operation in mid-September. Mexican officials partnered with the team of U.S. agencies, to explore the tunnel. The team reached the tunnel’s end on Thursday.
Border officials said tunnels are often filled after authorities complete their investigation to prevent smugglers from gaining access.
Officials found two tunnels in the San Diego sector in fiscal 2018. Warehouses near the Otay Mesa port of entry are a frequent ending point for tunnels in the area.
In August 2017, Border Patrol agents found a tunnel that emerged among weeds in a vacant area near the Otay Mesa border after 30 people, most from China and a few from Mexico, appeared out of it early one morning.
This is the first tunnel discovered in fiscal 2019.

Often filled? 22 years of EVERY presidental candidate, promising to build the wall (except Hillary Clinton, who said "fence")... and now I realized they are not destroying and filling the tunnels in? WTF!? We have 30 million illegals and minimal deportations. Meanwhile; we have military in about 120 countries. But we can not or will not guard and secure our own border!?

Personally I hope she doesn't. There was an outcry over #CanadaCruz running last time and, and that he may not be eligible (since he isn't natural born) and that may happen again. I dont think middle America or hard core right or people with a strong Faith or patriotism... will except a woman or someone with her ethnic and religious background or that she is first generation (so we are told...). And some may look at her as if she abandoned Trump.
Media is all over this as if it is a surprise. But Nikki Haley did say this 6 months ago and talked to Trump last week, about it. Yes.. people in the Trump administration have left, but it is also not unusual for an Ambassador to leave before a POTUS term is up.
There is so much gossip out there as to why she is leaving, why is that?
