RE: The lack of mature adults, both male and female as opposed to being adult in western society & why.

Why would it be confusing for the children?
If the parenting style of the adoptive parent is contradictive one has to assume that it's with some agreement of their partner.
Otherwise their parenting role would undoubtedly be limited by their partner.
There should be little confusion for the children, different households have different rules.
Regardless of there being adoptive parents or not.
Regardless of there being adoptive parents or not it can be frustrating for the other parent.
There is more than one way to skin a cat and unless you're a sole single parent having to deal with different ways and angles of approach will at times be frustrating and confusing.
(not suggesting being a sole single parent doesn't have their own set of frustrations and confusions)
Kids want/need clear rules. It's actually quite simple.
Household A they can have their dinner in front of the TV, household B they have dinner at the table.
Household A keeps their nose out of household B and vice versa
Even within one household there always will be different rules.
Kids find their parents different number quickly...
Why shouldn't the real father not be in the picture?
Are you saying that there can only be one father figure/role model? Too confusing for the children?(which it isn't) or is it to stroke the biological fathers ego?

RE: What advice would you give your 13 year old self.

I ran off from home when I was 13. Got caught a week and a half later. I think I would tell my young self to try again and again and just keep going. It will work out in the end and even if it doesn't, it's not the end.

RE: Whats been the highlight of your new year so far.

The balance is positive, for me it was.
The kids will be asking a lot of questions laugh

RE: Whats been the highlight of your new year so far.

Been asked for an interview regarding a place I used to live in the UK 20 years ago when it got shut down. That was a bit of an unexpected request and woken a mixed bag of old memories. The plan is to revisit the place in the first half of the year and hope to bring at least one of the kids along. It's a part of me they know little about.

RE: What would you do...

There is a distinction between receiving a serious telling off, which might or might not involve shouting, and being bullied.
Bullied is not a one-off, it's a pattern.
It takes time to recognise a pattern.
Before recognition one will watch and say nothing.
Once recognition is made it is a different story, one would hope so at least

RE: Which flame warrior best describes you.

in no particular order, the following I found most fitting for you. None that singly stuck out

Therapist

Therapist can be a highly annoying and therefore very effective Warrior. Instead of making a frontal attack, Therapist attempts to shift the focus of the conflict to the combatants’ psychological motivations and problems. He will freely speculate about other Warriors’ insecurities, personalities and relationships, but he will almost never directly engage the subject of the dispute. CAUTION: Evil Clown, Imposter and Troller often masquerade as Therapist.

Kung-Fu Master

Though Kung-Fu Masters are powerful Warriors, they generally choose not to fight. Many lesser Warriors delude themselves into thinking that they are masters of war, but few are the genuine article. The true Kung-Fu master fully appreciates his own superiority and is therefore unruffled by petty provocations. When forced to fight, however, he quickly crushes his opponent with devastating blows.

Android

Android doesn’t anger, nor does he engage in actual combat, rather he will merely point out the logical inconsistencies of other Warriors. Irony and sarcasm are completely lost on Android, and being impossible to insult or injure in any way, he is invulnerable to conventional attack. If, for example, someone were to call him a pinhead, he would get out a tape measure and after finding that his cranium falls within normal size specifications Android would dismiss the comment as erroneous. Android’s circuits are not equipped to process ambiguous or aesthetic input, consequently any extensive discussion involving personal feelings, intuition, art and metaphorical allusions will quickly drive Android from the field of battle.

Philosopher

Philosopher differs from Profundus Maximus in that he actually does know something. While somewhat humorless and slightly aloof, he is also slow to anger. When he does deign to engage in battle he is considerate of other opinions, but his ponderous and lengthy cogitations effectively smother the opposition.

RE: What is your native language.

That would be Dutch.
German would have been my second language.
French I had for years at school but that never rubbed off on me.
English I picked up along the way and now I have to consider it as my first language.
Swedish or Norwegian is something I still like to learn.

RE: What is your native language.

Only when it's still alive, French once it jumped onto your plate dead..
laugh

RE: Which one would you choose, if you had to pick one.

hmm
While I'm not exactly smart, neither would an antonym of it be fitting.
I do have talents but I am poorer than a church mouse.
But I have little or no interest in wealth.
I don't consider myself handsome nor do I think I'm ugly.
I'm just me.
Sometimes some people think I'm funny, sometimes I think I'm funny.
But I'm not as often happy.
So I would pick happy.
The rest would take care of itself
