Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Southern Ireland (Now the Republic of Ireland, previously the Irish Free State) separated from Northern Ireland in the 1922 partition. Ireland as a whole was part of the UK until partition.

I agree you and Eire should stay with your brothers in Europe and leave the UK alone ,of course the UK includes Northern Ireland who have chosen the UK and not Eire.
