People in my family are dropping like flies from Pancreatic cancer..The only one who was an alcoholic who died last year hadn't had a drink for 25 years..Someone told me having sugary things is the cause of pancreatic cancer
I too was addicted to sugar..I was so addicted coke (coca cola) the same way I reckon an alcoholic is addicted to alcohol..I would drink between 6 to 8 litres of coke a day..I would have four heaped teaspoons of sugar in a small cup of tea...To cut a long story short I went to the doctor to ask why am I now drinking water?..I hated water..Why have I replaced sugar with sweetener in my cup of tea..Why am I no longer addicted to all things sweet?
I'm not going to go into personal details on this but he told me because of a very traumatic experience I had that my body went into shock..That traumatic even didn't mess with my head but it did things in other ways to my cravings for sugar
I look at alcoholism as being as addictive as a junkie is addicted to a fix..For some it runs in the family so the cycle continues..Not all are abusive my uncle was an alcoholic who attended AA for years and he was a very gentle man.
In saying the above I do believe there are some on CS who aren't alcoholics but decide to slurp on a few then use the forums/blogs as lippy drunk trashy trogs..
