That’s a good question. I have been popping in and out of this site for about 9 years.
Met some really nice people, friends still, I am still in touch with quite a few male and female. All genuinely nice people. In fact I flew to Australia last year to meet a few. I Met a man here, had 6 year relationship with him until he drifted off with a much younger recently widowed woman who lives just around the corner from him. Too much of a. Temptation I suppose, ( she is hard up and needed a meal ticket. long story ) since coming back to this site I see so many men who appear to live near my location and view my profile often but don’t bother to write. I would have thought that men of my generation would understand that, For me and women of my age, men have usually made the first contact. How do I get rid of these old fashioned thoughts ideas and make the first move. I have no idea what to say to a stranger, I have no opening lines! I have written a comprehensive profile maybe that is of putting.
Things have changed so much in such a short time.
Well I am giving this one last shot. I know there are plenty of scammers on here they are easy to spot. There are lots of genuine people too. I truly believe.
I’ve travelled solo many times. Just got back from visiting friends in Australia. Had a wonderful time. Last year I did 5 weeks traveling around Europe with my dog. Just driving booking hotels along the way when not staying with friends. This July I am off again to UK through France where I will again stay by booking hotels as I travel.
I found by doing that , stopping and exploring small towns and villages you see so much of life.
It’s not as risky as going to popular tourist places. I avoid those.
There would be no surprises when meeting me.. I do exactly what it says on the tin. The only thing people can't see on my profile( apart from the obvious) is my height, which is 5'11 & I doubt I'll be growing any more![/quote
Better left on the shelf than with the wrong person.
There are plenty of time wasters, they lie about their age, and put up old photographs.. so when you do get to meet with them you’re not meeting who you thought. Time wasted.
When you talk with someone or meet them sometimes there is no connection or chemistry so you move on. Not necessarily looking for perfection. Is that time wasting?
I don’t think so we learn something from every meeting or chat.
If you partner starts criticising or picking arguments with you for no good reason it is usually because they are interested in someone else and want to end the partnership.
yes guilty. I find it good to keep in touch with friends I have around the world. I also have lots of friends on there that I met here on CS many years ago.
Used carefully it is a great way to keep in touch with groups of friends.
