Look at the other angle. If everyone agrees with each other in good terms and being positive, there is no fun. Bloody fight has been the most attractive entertainment since gladiator to cage ultimate championship fighting. We want to see the blood spilling to have fun. God worshiping human nature.

I made a real long story too short to be comprehensible, not because of expensive translator. I had a brief relationship with widow of my life long friend and she was my class mate in college. We were interested in each other and I invited her to my house one day and she played piano for me. That was the last time I saw her since then because she was ghosting me. I was very confused and devastated.
I was told by a few of my close friends that she was ready for ultimate outcome and saying yes. The consequence of my shyness and politeness toward widow of friend caused humiliation of her emotion and resent. That's what I was told. It broke my heart dearly. And she completely cut out the connection and no one can't even find her.
I should have kissed her and had a little bit of fun while she was vulnerable, then I would have had a spouse by now. I still love her and it broke my heart. If I could read what's in her mind at that time, this might not have happened. Who knows?
I am completely opposite character to what you described about your dad and I was dumped twice by girls who wanted me. I was told that I should have been a little more carnivorous. I will never figure out what's in women's mind.
