Engine oil is too heavy. Campers and hunters here usually just pee or take a dump in their cooking pans instead.

I use a non stick pan..If I was one to use oil and I had none I would use a little butter.

Yep, but used engine oil is most economical - get it for free with a few dip n shakes of the dip stick!
