I have never tried stuffed peppers, but some people make them here and they fill them with a mix of rice, veggies and ground beef that looks really yummy...
The bans most eaten here are black ones... And especially, with a national dish called "Pabellón Criollo"...
Haven't had pabellón in YEARS... I think I can cook a lot of meals... But nothing like snails or bugs or sushi... Just "normal" traditional food... All the people that eat what I cook, always want more... But, I have to confess that I prefer to watch while my other half cooks... Or we can negotiate and he does the dishes... Everything can be negotiated...
P.S. So, you really have never tried "dulce de leche"?... It's not chocolate... It's what you get, after cooking condensed milk for a very long time, I think...
Jajajajajajajajajajaja... Well, they had a spoon... I didn't even have that... It was just me, my fingers and my piece of jellyroll, filled with "obscene" dulce de leche...
I had no idea (Had to google the word scuttlebutt, jajajajaajajajajajajaj... ), but, you know, being the Mom of three dogs, I have learned to finely cut any vegetable peels (carrot, zuchini, potato) to add them to the rice I make for them and that I mix with their dog food... And those girls just love it... I have always tried to make them eat veggies in a disguised way... But, you know what TRULY shocked me?... To see one of my dogs grab one of my neighbor's "Nisperos" ( I don't know how to say that fruit in English, but I will post a picture) and bury it to eat it later... I had never seen any of my girls burying any kind of food and to bury a fruit, was a total shock... So, I can believe anything, at the moment...
That sounds really yummy!... You know, I have never been a fan of big chunks of nuts/dried fruits in cakes... But I figured out a way, that really works for me... I process them and then add them to the dough... That way, I keep the flavor, but you hardly know they are there... It works, when you have to feed fussy kids, jajajajajaajajja... The only Christmas cake I could eat, was made by the granny of a family that was very close to us... The sweetest people (from Trinidad)... And that lady made the yummiest Christmas cake... And if you froze it, and then cut it in very thin slices... Omg... That was to die for... And trust me, I am a very fussy eater, when it comes to that kind of cakes...
I have tried banana bread, zuchini bread and pumpkin bread... And I really couldn't be able to pick a favorite... They are all delicious... And the moistness the fruit/veggies add to the dough, makes them so soft... Really yummy... P.S. I have to confess I have never tried any of those fancy coffees... I don't drink coffee and I don't know what a latte, mochaccino, espresso and any of those taste/look like (I don't even know if I typed their names correctly, jajajajajaajajaja), but people seem so addicted to them... Are they good?...
One of my Mom's aunties (I don't know why, but they all spoiled my Mom, terribly... That always melted my heart ) , who lived in Caracas, always sent her pumpkin bread... I had never tried it... But, that was delicious!... Was like a spice bread...
RE: This is what I had for dinner tonight.
Nope... I let Arturo do it, for me... Jajajajajajajajja... I let the experts do their job...
