Harina PAN

Harina P.A.N. The abbreviation stands for Producto Alimenticio Nacional, which translates in English into: National Food Product. It is the first brand of boiled maize flour in Venezuela. The brand itself became a synecdoche, as even with other large competitors in the market, it is used as a noun to indicate any similar maize flour.

Harina PAN is used to make the maize flour dough also known as "masa de arepa" or "masarepa", which is used to make Venezuelan dishes such as arepas, hallacas, empanadas, and bollos pelones. Harina PAN is found in varieties made from white and yellow corn. It contains no additives and is considered suitable for those with restricted diets.

For decades, Harina PAN has been an essential ingredient for Venezuelans, and more recently in Colombian cooking, with websites dedicated to locating the nearest distributor in several countries in the world. Pre-made arepa flour is specially prepared for making arepas and other maize dough-based dishes, such as Venezuelan hallacas, bollos, and empanadas. The most popular brand names of corn flour are Harina PAN in Venezuela, and Areparina in Colombia. Pre-made arepa flour is usually made from white corn, but there are yellow corn varieties available. To Venezuelans, it forms a part of their national identity, making up a large portion of their diet.

Does Size Matter?...

Apparently, it does...

If you want to be a jockey, for example, you have to be a small gentleman... Also, certain activities like welding or plumbing require workers to be able to fit into small spaces...

On the other side, if you are tall, you can work as a pilot, a house painter, roofer, tree cutter...

Does size matter to you?... laugh devil laugh

Want to learn a little Spanish?

I have always wondered if it's easier for a Spanish speaking person to learn English or for an English speaking person to learn Spanish...

When I was in school, I thought English was extremely easy and never really studied for the tests... Even took a "Sufficiency Test" while attending the University to obtain my first degree and got a "100", that allowed me to immediately skip to the next level of "Technical English"...

Anyway, I was told by ONE gentleman that he was a little disappointed because he expected more of an accent from me... But, I have to say, I don't like how Penélope Cruz or Salma Hayek sound, when they speak English, so I try my best to erase/delete my accent... There have been people that even think I am a US citizen... Anyway, when anyone listens to me speaking Spanish, they immediately know I am a Spanish speaking person... And I love it...

Spanish is absolutely beautiful and sexy... Sooooo... Do you want to learn a little Spanish?... laugh devil shimmy flirty laugh

This guy says in another video that he feels Spanish was created to f@ck his life... laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh

Caracas' Macaws

Caracas (Venezuela's capital) is located in a valley, surrounded mostly by the "Cerro El Ávila"... It's also the home of over 400 macaws that fly freely and are adored by "Caraqueños" (Caracas' citizens)... These wonderful creatures visit hundreds of balconies every day to everyone's delight...

"Venezuelan “arepas”, world’s best breakfast"

"According to a poll by food/drink critic Adam Lapetina, and published by the travel and adventure website Thrillist, the Venezuelan arepa is in the top position in a list of 18 countries’ breakfast, classified regarding their nutrients.

Russia, Myanmar, Australia, France and Japan, among others, are part of the top 18 in which Venezuela reached the main place.

“Venezuela’s breakfast is all about salt, starch, meat, fruit, and cheese, and that’s what makes it the best breakfast in the world”, is the reason why Venezuelan gastronomy was chosen.

Lapetina also commended the arepa because of its endless combinations. “Grilled chorizo, arepas filled with super-savory white cheese, chicken, avocados, and eggs are all guaranteed to keep you full until dinner…” The arepa is therefore one of the world’s most versatile meals.

The arepa, made of corn flour, is the queen of breakfast and also an remarkable side for main dishes, for lunch or dinner, whether fried or baked."

This poll was made seven years ago, but Venezuelan arepas are still the best thing in this world!...

Hot and Cold...

I don't like it cold... Even though when I feel hurt I may act a little distant... But I always like it hot, warm... Cozy, soft, hard, sticky, full of emotion, intense, passionate, obscene, sacred, s*xual, innocent... I love it... In all its ways, shapes and forms...
devil lips heart beating

Hot and Cold
"For this love flowing against the current.
For this love that nobody understands.
At times it knows no bounds
and runs amok in a terrible way.
It drags me around like a river,
going between hot and cold,
but it's yours and its mine,
clear as a moonlit night
with the moon full...
it's worth the difficulties.

And at times it takes me so far
that I find myself where I have never been.
Sometimes I lose myself
and then return in an instant, going between
hot and cold.
This love is yours and mine.

For this love that has no pretensions,
for this love
that scratches and spreads out,
for this love born out of time itself.
For this love
that sometimes I myself don't even understand.
And it plays, just like a child
with the face of a rascal,
a game of cat and mouse.
And at times it shows itself to me naked,
so delicate and pure,
that I can't imagine it being wrong in any way.

And at times it takes me so far
that I find myself where I have never been.
Sometimes I lose myself
and then return in an instant, going between
hot and cold.
This love is yours and mine.

And at times I confuse the heavens
with the earth;
at times I don't know if it's going away or coming back,
between hot and cold...
This love is yours and mine."

P.S. What about other things...
My soup, extremely hot...
My drinking water, extremely cold...
My room, cold...
My bed, warm...
My... Nah, I better stop... Jajajajajajajajajajajajja... devil devil devil laugh laugh laugh
What about yours... Do you like it hot... Do you like it cold... Somewhere in between...

To dye or not to dye...

I have a friend, who is a very nice gentleman... He is in his sixties... And he dyes his hair... A few days ago, he said he had to dye it again, because gray hairs were showing... And, I couldn't help but wonder what ladies and gentlemen thought about this particular subject...

I personally think gray hair looks ABSOLUTELY SEXY... Mmmmmmmm... Mmmmmmm... Mmmmmmmmm... devil devil devil But that's just ME... I have told him to embrace his natural handsomeness, but I don't think he will go "natural" any time soon...

Anyway, I would love to know what guys think of males that dye their hair to cover gray... And even more, I would love to read what ladies think, because in my opinion, guys that dye their hair to be more attractive for ladies, might be sabotaging their looks, but again, that's just ME... dunno

In my personal opinion, males that dye their hair might be presenting themselves as very insecure people, and to me, confidence is TOTALLY HOT... But, I will say it again... That's just ME... laugh

Finally, I think the key is to get a nice, modern, haircut... That would totally take years off, if that's what males that dye their hair are trying to achieve...

P.S. I don't dye my hair... And I don't plan to do so... I practice what I preach... wink bouquet

Catatumbo Lightning

"The Catatumbo Lightning in Venezuela has captured me from the first moment I set foot in Ologa, the fishing village in the heart of Lake Maracaibo. What locals call the "Relampago de Catatumbo" is also known as the everlasting storm, raging on in up to 300 nights every year with intensities reaching multiple flashes every second at a time.
Just 15 kilometers NW of the camp lies the one point on earth with the most lightning strikes, here up to 250/km2 are registered every year.

The Catatumbo Lighting is not just a Guinness World Record holder but also has been immortalized in the flag of Zulia, where people proudly call it the "Maracaibo Lighthouse" after saving Maracaibo on multiple occasions from nighttime ambushes of foreign naval fleets. But Catatumbo is much more than just lightning, it's an overall crazy place filled with amazing people, incredible wildlife, beautiful flora and unbelievable light scenes on an almost daily base. All these things coming together have made me fall in love with this place and after visiting 3 times I feel a deep connection to the Maracaibo Lake - It has become my second home. A ferocious and unforgiving home but the best home I could possibly imagine. This film shows the highlights of those three trips, all in a very cinematic fashion. Some of the lightning videos are indeed the real time, but many others are slightly shortened in order to look the most impressive, but everything you see in here did actually happen and wasn't altered using any After Effects etc."

This is Venezuela... Zulia... Maracaibo... My country... My home... My love... heart beating
It's impossible not to fall in love with this blessed land... How can I pretend not to be as proud as I am, of being a daughter of the most breathtaking and incredible place on earth, so full of natural miracles and wonders it's even hard to count them all... Enjoy!... bouquet
