I know farmers around here who have had to sew their cornfields 2 or even 3 times cos of the weather .. and now they are doubting if a decent harvest will come at all this year ..
it seems that everywhere you look people are going through it at the moment ... it's devastating news to people who earn their livlihood .. with you it's jellyfish ...here it's the effect of the crazy weather on the crops .. and all on top of the financial crisis ... the world is on a real low at the moment ..soz if this sounds too serious ..
very interesting cos only this week I have been talking about this very same topic in some of my language classes .. it seems that in Italy it is totally unacceptab;e for a man to stay at home and look after the kids while the woman works .. and all the students across the board seemed resolute in that opinion.
In the UK it's nothing strange for a man to be the 'house husband' as it's known there ..
I was made redundant when my daughter was 4 years old and it seemed very traumatic at the time .. my life has however gone from strength to strength since that time .. and I dread to think how things might have been if I hadn't got that lucky break, as I see it now ..
!!! I love thse summer !!!.. important for me in the summer are sun, sea, friends and laughter. so many great memories of summers gone by. I usually do a summer school July and August then travel in September .. hopes for this year? fun as ever .. fantastic that it's almost here at last ..
