It fascinates me especially with the large numbers that come from the larger cities and towns why there aren't more social gatherings be it a picnic in a park or night out somewhere.As that would be a great way for people to meet.
Thats it eliteone,we do what we feel is right at the time and what needs to be done in order to get where we want to be or to be with someone we want to be with and if that means selling belongings etc so be it, afterall it is a choice.

Not to sure what 2010 has got to do with it as women have been asking men out for a looong time.Once upon a time it was nothing for a lady to give a gentleman a calling card as a way of showing her interest or asking him out.. Religion has nothing to do with the fact that our spirits live on.You havent seen any in the house as they weren't your spirit guides however if you were to ask a spirit guide to show themselves to you you may just see one.Not believing that you have spirit guides will also keep them at bay. And a spirit isnt always that of a deceased person as our spirit can leave and return to our bodies at will..

It was once observed by noted psychologists that a guy with a beard and moustache was showing that his thinking was family orientated but then on the other hand others saw it that he was hiding something ie his face so that he wouldn't be recognise. Both from my experience seem to fit the observation persay.
Personally I don't mind if he does or doesn't so long as he is happy within himself.
Hi, loneliness feels like an empty stomach because it is an empty feeling.When we feel lonely it is because we have disconnect from that inner part of ourselves.It isn't always a negative feeling so long as you dont get stuck in it.It can propell you forward to empower yourself.
I think you made a good point wanderer.How many get stuck in a comfort zone and are fearful for one reason or another of stepping out of it or have been raised to a specific way of thinking let alone doing that keeps them in that so called comfort zone. And wtg with your achievements as a team member and as an individual. A man or womans small step forward is a great leap forward for all of man kind.

This is a really good topic for reflection and to see if as a human race we are learning.Once upon a time it was a mothers duty to raise her sons not to feel or show emotion for the chance that they would go to war was forever,now though in this life time we are teaching our sons that it is ok to feel and I personally have never taken for granted that just because a male is a male means that he can do all the so called manly tasks let alone tasks done by a woman. As a mother of a son in changed times I felt it a duty to raise my son not to be afraid of his feelings or emotions or to feel ashamed for showing them and if he took interest in the kitchen or when I was ironing etc I would teach him. I personally dont think woman give men the credit they deserve and maybe that can be said both ways and I dont like it when women complain that their partners never did any of these things, maybe they need to ask themselves how they contributed to that as in did they mother them ? did they give them the opportunity ? did they teach them in a respectful way ? did they communicate ? I have always been one for taking an interest when my partners have been doing anything that was new to me and would ask if they would teach me if it was something I wanted to learn or sometimes it was simply that they needed another pair of hands and that gave me the opportunity to learn also and then there were times when I was quite happy to just sit and take in the view.I learnt so much from my father and am so thankful for the nurturing though at times harsh relationship we had.
That is very true and a thought provoking statement.I think that maybe when people refer to being an expert they are holding themselves back from learning more and as a human race we are learning more not just from our own personal mistakes but from others also which is why the human race is slowly evolving and then on the other hand some would say one mans failure can be another mans success just as a mistake for one man may not be for another. Hi Serene, how have you been ? I have done everything from pull down and rebuild motors, dig fence post holes,lay plumbing, fine needlework and the list goes on.. I am most thankful to the men I have known including my father as they taught me that just about anything they can do I can do too. Have a great weekend everyone

Hi everyone, For me it all depends on the occasion and not being a regular drinker it doesn't take much to get me on or under the table so to speak .. If I have been working hard in the garden on a summers day a nice light ale while admiring my work is refreshing and relaxing. If I have company for dinner or am out for dinner or lunch than a nice red or white wine depending on the meat goes down well. And if I am at a party something light and spritzie please.

I agree being 54 (seeing as that's also my age) should not be a disadvantage nor does it mean we are ready for the pasture as you put it and thank you for noticing what I have also noticed and commented on in another forum that there isn't alot of respect for women or men about on the forums however there are those that do have respect for themselves and eachother and rather than see the lack as a negative I embrace it as a positive as it reminds me how respectful I am .. I'm still hopeful after 11 years that there is someone out there for me to spend the rest of my days with I just wish he would hurry up and find me before it isn't the pasture that I find but rather a pine box with my name on it ..lol I do wish you ever success in seeking what it is you are looking for...
I also agree with what lok_simpson had to say with regards to getting involved with a work colleague.It takes 2 very mature people to be able to continue working under the same roof if it should all go pear shaped so to speak however, maybe that is something you could both talk about and explore if and when you get that date ..cheers
