Hi Jon and thank you,
That is a very good question and one I have pondered over over the years.
Homeless people can always be housed and the untended can always be tended to.
Some are not always fortunate to have the stable upbringing many take for granted.

Rehabilitate those that can be and want to be for starters rather than just locking them up.
Governments and other agencies spend thousands rehabilitating wildlife etc yet human rehabilitation and mental health never gets that kind of funding.
As for the criminally insane that can not be helped, apart from praying for them I am yet to find an acceptable solution.

I haven't seen John Carpenters movie Escape from New York though dare say it is an extreme view of the topic otherwise you would not have posted it ..

Would be interested to hear your opinions on the subject..

Believe it or not I originally signed up here 2 years ago for the games they have as it made a change from the usual site I play at ,and then I was seeing someone and totally forgot that I was signed up till recently when I was staying at my other daughters down south and seeing as I couldnt go to my usual game site on her comp I came here.. then when I got back to Coffs in April and came on one of the forum posts caught my eye and I have been posting since and playing the games they have ..
Gotta keep the brain ticking ..lol

I went to the Crown last year for lunch..they have done it up some and the food was excellent and you can sit in or outside which is always nice ..

Hi Misty, you were reading my mind while I was having dinner as I was wondering if the two venues that I posted were a tad expensive for everyone especially by the time people pay for petrol and accomodation if they come down from Brissie.. the only pub locally here I go to for a meal is the Greenhouse which could be a goer. there is a nice pub in Ballina on the river called the Shaws Bay Hotel ..

Hi, and thank you .. as I mentioned in the other thread about the get together if we dont get enough members in the Coffs area I am willing to have it in Grafton or maybe even Ballina as there seems to be more interest coming from the north and Queensland and Ballina is half way ..

Hi Cuspo, according to the Mayan calender the world is suppose to end on the 21/12/2012.
I dont interpret it to mean literally though maybe as a human race things may end as we once knew them and more people will be enlightened .. Other than that in 50 years I wont be here so it wont be my concern ..

Hi ooby, thank you for sharing your story.
From my perspective it is probabley more a case of what you are comfortable around especially given your background.
It is said that our first significant relationship is to help us heal (or extend as they arent always ones which need healing)our childhood which is why so many find themselves attracted to either their mothers or fathers personality type.

As we get older and wiser and we get to know ourselves better we soon become more conscience of what we attract and come to know and understand that we have a choice in what we attract..

The first step in resolving the problem is being conscience of it and the more conscience aware you are the less likely it is to happen in the future.
May I suggest another good book is Set Yourself Free by Shirley Smith. I read it 19 years ago and it was a great help and inspiration and this is the link to her site which may also aide you on your journey ..

Cool, glad to hear you all had a good time..
Yeah, that's what I thought which is why I posted here first before going to the next step.There arent alot of people in the Coffs area on here but with Kempsey, Grafton and other area's around there might be a few interested which is why I thought a lunch venue might be the go.
Wait and see I guess ...

Mangrove Jacks ( which is also licensed ) has a website and a menu online and maybe with the way the weather has been an undercover venue may be more practical..

Hi everyone, I have been thinking of holding a get together on the North Coast.

I was thinking of a day time event such as a BBQ on the foreshores ...
Is anyone else interested ?
When would be a good time as in: before the school holidays,during school holidays or in the New Year ?

Any weekend is fine with me so if I get an idea of numbers etc we can get this happening ..
