Can't find anyone locally who hasn't been "online over 1 month"

Man, that bites. Attractive women in whom I am interested: stay online til I find you!

And if you're a Montana girl reading this, talk to me later.

RE: can't sleep

I'm a chronic insomniac. In fact, 4-6 hours is my average per night, and I can function on as little as 2. But when I absolutely need to sleep, I get a generic, over-the-counter sleep aid that is basically a huge dose of Benedryl. It works wonders for me, but be careful, it can have the opposite effect!

RE: Only for men: what do you usually do after a woman refuse/ block any of your cortege to her?

Forget her and move on. Plenty of fish in the sea, and if it ain't right, why force it?

RE: What song are you listening to?

Not a song, but got a movie playing for background noise. Shaun of the Dead.

RE: The weekend is coming!!!!!

My weekend is in the dead center of a fifteen day stretch at work. So it's safe to say no big plans.

RE: US congressman moves to impeach Bush

Impeach Bush? It's a little freakin' late for that isn't it? I mean, it's nearing the end of his second term in office already. If someone were going to impeach him, they should have started 3 or perhaps 4 years ago.

or here's an idea: don't re-elect him into office.

Politics... doh

RE: Why are there no contemporary writers in Jesus' time?

Yeah, but you also have to consider that "the great multitude" back then probably could not read or write.

RE: Why are there no contemporary writers in Jesus' time?

I'm going to avoid waxing all political and expressing any point of view that religion is all about control. Whatever makes a person feel happy, loved, and gives them a sense of belonging, then go for it.

That aside, there are documents that have been found (i.e. the gospel of St. Thomas, the gospel of Judas Iscariot) that are being kept under tight wraps by the Catholic church. Who knows how much documented evidence of Christ's history is being kept from the public eye or dismissed as apocrypha?

Take the gospel of St. Paul, for example. Paul wrote those, and he had known Christ personally...unless I'm way off here. Been a long time since my last theological discussion.

I'm just saying that records most likely exist, we just haven't seen them.

RE: Ok people, it has been implied on another thread that the women on CS are less then desirable

If I may interject a male perspective:

To use the term "ladies" (in any traditional sense) is ridiculous, and whomever said it needs to join this century. Anymore just because a woman speaks her mind or lets you know what she wants (and sometimes how she wants it lol) does not make her any less a "lady". I have read the forum threads of and chatted with some particularly lovely women on here, and I would have to disagree with the statements made by this anonymous source.

You ladies are wonderful. Don't let some loser bring you down.

RE: who thinks this pic is scary?

Hey river! No honey, your pic doesn't look scary. It may give the impression that you're a little darker than you seem, but who doesn't have a little darkside in them?

RE: Women, ask Guys what you've always wanted to know.

I think what it comes down to is that some people just like a project. They see a person who "could be" their ideal match with a little "improvement" and they set to work on that. The guy who made the comment that it was like tuning up an engine is dead on (my analogy being flipping houses).

But I tell ya what, every girl I've been with has tried to fit me into a box and turn me into something I'm not.

And it hurt like hell when I found out I was just a "failed home improvement project".

So there's no real answer for that question. Sometimes a person just wants a project. If you don't care to be a pet project, don't be with those kinds of people.

RE: The dreaded day is approaching...

My mother was killed in a car accident 3 years ago, and on the anniversary date of her death it hits me pretty hard. Usually what helps me is to start the day with a good cry, and then talking to someone about her. How wonderful she was, the things she and I shared. The things she shared with me. How glad I was for having known her. I can't go to her grave site because it is so far away, but I have photos and things that help me remember her.

Do you have a photo album? You could go thru it with your son and remember all the wonderful times you, he, and his father had together. Because there's not a grave, maybe you could take him someplace that was special to the three of you, or take him to the place you and your late husband first met and tell him how it happened.

But don't try not to be sad. Sadness is the natural reaction of grief. Go ahead and have a good cry, but don't make that your whole day.

Above all (and I'm sure you'll have no trouble with this one) let your son know how special he is to you, and how special he was to his father.

RE: I refuse to respond to you girls looking for Casual Encounters with me

I respect this guy's point of view...

...so anyone looking for a casual encounter can talk to me.

I won't enjoy it. It'll just be taking one for the team.

rolling on the floor laughing

can't even say that with a straight face.

RE: Phobias and fears....

Ok, here's one:

Batrachophobia: the irrational fear of amphibians.

Suffered from it since I was a baby.

Can't get over it.

RE: How do I stop my cat from scratching my sofas?

Just get a spray bottle and douse the little SOB whenever he goes near the couch.

That oughta' stop him.

What's everyone having for lunch?

Oh my god that egg salad was amazing!

Or if you already ate, what did you have?

RE: Rise of the freemale

RE: Be honest now, is race, religion, or politics an issue for you, when it comes to dating?

Good answer! thumbs up

RE: Be honest now, is race, religion, or politics an issue for you, when it comes to dating?

Race, religion, politics...all very touchy subjects, but unless she's a total extremist in any area (for example if she thinks I'm going hell for my drinking and smoking habits and insists I need to be "saved" we have a problem) it shouldn't be an issue. I can only see race being an issue when it comes to different cultures and traditions, but anything can be done with a little compromise.

Mostly it's the lying, cheating, and using me thing that gets to be trouble.

RE: Rise of the freemale

To interject a male perspective here...I think it's great that more and more women are choosing to be independent rather than rely on husbands and family. It's a new age where not only women, but all people, can do as they please without having to stress about who's judging them. In fact, I once read an article that stated that men define themselves by their careers, and women defined themselves by their relationships. I had to dispute this because I think those roles are changing more and more everyday. I know some women who are very career driven and stay "in character" even in their off hours. Conversely, I know many men who are nothing outside of a relationship. I do think the term "freemale" is rather insulting, indicating that females are not "free" because of their gender, and defining females' roles based on old tradition. Now I can't speak for all guys when it comes to this, but I love strong, independent women who believe in making their own way, doing as they please, and never feeling that they have to apologize for it.
