Former Democratic presidential contender, Dennis Kucinich, has called for the impeachment of George W Bush claiming that the president set out to deceive the nation, and violated his oath of office with the Iraq war.

The Ohio representative yesterday introduced 35 articles of impeachment against Bush on the floor of the US House of Representatives.

Kucinich unveiled a list of alleged illegal and improper acts by Bush, including war crimes.

He accused Bush executing a "calculated and wide-ranging strategy" to deceive citizens and Congress into believing that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.

He went on to say that Bush and Cheney lied to Congress and the American public about the reasons for invading Iraq in 2003 and abused their offices in order to conduct the "War on Terror" following the 9/11 attacks.

"Bush misled the American people and members of Congress to believe Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction so as to manufacture a false case for war. President George W. Bush, by such conduct, is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removal from office," Kucinich said.

He has already introduced a similar impeachment resolution against Vice President Cheney.

We all know we were sold a lie now. What remains is will he actually be impeached.

Keep us all posted but their are loads of get out he will try to use, in that he didnt take the country to war, the congress voted and authorised military action.

What will be interesting is if the "good old boys" on the hill manage to hang him out to dry or not.

My monies on he will get off scot free....

Impeach Bush? It's a little freakin' late for that isn't it? I mean, it's nearing the end of his second term in office already. If someone were going to impeach him, they should have started 3 or perhaps 4 years ago.

or here's an idea: don't re-elect him into office.

Politics... doh

Dennis tried to Impeach Bush and Cheney last year, but it didn't fly.

Of course, there is now more evidence against the both of them.

I believe it could still do some good, if they were both impeached.
Doesn't it cancel their lifetime retirement pay for being in office?

That would also mean that Nancy Pelosi would be President for a short term... the FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT!!!!!

tongue Hillary... Eat your heart out and cry!!!!!!

I would just love it!!!!! After all the money Hillary spent to try to be the first... it would serve her right!

I think the trial would drag out for too long.

Also, that would set the stage for them to pull their next trick out of the hat... create a disaster so they can declare Martial Law and NEVER leave office!!!

Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony are turning in their graves!

I'm a little surprised to hear you take this position. This is why the ERA failed and why it took so long for other empowering legislation to come to fruition for women including the right to drive a car. I use that as an example to "drive" home a point 10-4?

I was a little surprised that every woman of voting age didn't rally behind Hillary whether they agreed with her politics or not if for no other reason than to break through that glass ceiling.

Sometimes women allow their feline side to compromise their basic goals of acheiving parity with men. Their emotions and petty jealousies cripple their efforts to get the job done.scold

Why do you think Obama swept North Carolina and Hillary swept West Virginia?

Race will play a major role in the general election I guarantee it!

There are many black republicans who will vote for Obama because he is black and there are many white Democrats who will vote for McCain because he's white. The racial divide is alive and well in the US. I've heard some Libertarian friends say I normally vote republican and I'd like to see a democrat in the White House but there's no way I'm gonna vote for a "N" for president. But hey, I'm just the messenger.

Aren't these your words: "I was a little surprised that every woman of voting age didn't rally behind Hillary whether they agreed with her politics or not if for no other reason than to break through that glass ceiling." ??

I guess you mean that women, like others, should make a poltically savy vote. I am not a political person. I would prefer to vote for Clinton because I think she has more experience, and having traveled a bit, I know people all over the world admire Bill, who would then have a lot of effective impact as her partner. However, though I like the idea of finally having a woman president, and of breaking the glass ceiling, I wouldn't vote for her because she is a woman. I have found it, however, extremely destressing and disturbing all the bigotry directed toward her as a candidate that is gender based....unbelieveable--no one would ever consider such jabs and jokes based on race...cheers

The problem is, this man lied, alot of people are dead now because of his war just so he and his friends could make a boatload of money. He has given our country a bad reputation. Something needs to be done. There needs to be some type of accountability for his actions. We need to send a message to future presidents that this type of misconduct is not acceptable. Otherwise we're going to be right back here again in the future.

The House of Representatives has voted to impeach two presidents -- Andrew Johnson, in 1868, and Bill Clinton, in 1999 -- but both were acquitted by the Senate and remained in office. No U.S. vice president has been impeached.

Just wont happen... but it is about time it did!
Unless their is a loud enough outcry from the people.. It will never happen.frustrated

ooby, I do not see how you are surprised!
I have made it very clear that I am a Ron Paul supporter and a Libertarian AND that I can not stand the Socialist Hitlary!!!

I am not a member of ERA nor a womans liber. I am simply a woman who has done what it takes to survive in this world, without a man to support me, just like many others have.

I would never vote for someone due to gender or race. I will vote for who has the interest of the people at heart and whom I believe will help us return to our Constitutional foundation.

A woman of intelligence would never do such a stupid thing!
I don't have petty jealousies and whatever the task is at hand, I do get the job done.

The prize can be deceptive! Things are not always as they seem!

peace
