I do that a lot wake up at a stupid hour then can't get back to sleep. I usually make something warm to drink. Jump on the com for a little while and then go back to bed.
I'm a chronic insomniac. In fact, 4-6 hours is my average per night, and I can function on as little as 2. But when I absolutely need to sleep, I get a generic, over-the-counter sleep aid that is basically a huge dose of Benedryl. It works wonders for me, but be careful, it can have the opposite effect!
