This is my country! Land of my birth! This is my country! Grandest on earth! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, For this is my country to have and to hold.
What diff'rence if I hail from North or South Or from the East or West? My heart is filled with love for all of these. I only know I swell with pride and deep within my breast I thrill to see Old Glory paint the breeze.
With hand upon heart I thank the Lord For this my native land, For all I love is here within her gates. My sould is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand, For these are mine own United States.
This is my country! Land of my choice! This is my country! Hear my proud voice! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, For this is my country! To have and to hold.
Had not heard thes Ttom, but I'm not surprised, How frustrating! I'll be sure to listen in to Sean Hannity tomorrow. Check his website, too. Surely there must be a link somewhere.
Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation, Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all. Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation In proud fulfillment of a great, noble call.
Yours is the aim to make this grand coun-try grander, This you will do, That's our strong, firm belief. Hail to the one we selected as commander, Hail to the President! Hail to the Chief! The House I Live In
What is America to me? A name, a map, the flag I see, a certain word, "Democracy." What is America to me?
The house I live in, A plot of earth, a street, The grocer and the butcher and the people that I meet, The children in the playground, the faces that I see; All races, all religions, that's America to me.
The place I work in, the worker at my side The little town or city where my people lived and died The "howdy" and the handshake the air of feeling free the right to speak my mind out, that's America to me.
The things I see about me the big things and the small The little corner newsstand and the house a mile tall; The wedding and the churchyard, the laughter and the tears, The dream that's been a growin' for a hundred fifty years
The town I live in the street, the house, the room, The pavement of the city, or a garden all in bloom, The church, the school, the club house, The million lights I see, But especially the people, That's America to me.
God Bless The USA If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life And I had to start again with just my children and my wife I'd thank my lucky stars to be livin' here today Cause the flag still stands for freedom And they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free And I won't forget the men who died Who gave that right to me And I'd gladly stand up next to you And defend her still today. Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee Across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea From Detroit down to Houston, and New York to LA Well there's pride in every American heart And its time we stand and say:
That I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free And I won't forget the men who died Who gave that right to me And I'd gladly stand up next to you And defend her still today. Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the USA.
That's a lovely story Ttom - and I think I know just what memorial you are talking about in St. Cloud. The problem these days, it seems to me, is the absolute LACK of patriotism. Am I alone here?
RE: Obama for President........duodenary
OK I may not agree, but THAT was funny!
