Well I haven't had to worry about meeting someone who doesn't look like his photo yet.....can't think why that would be But I know that I really hate being viewed by really really old guys who don't have a picture up....there is a really obvious reason behind that one. Eeewwwwwwww.

Thanks blonde, not knowing my grandmother, when all my mates had theres around kind of drove home to me just how special she really was.

Was also interested how people came by their usernames so thought I would rehash this one...


Aberfoyle is the name of the property I have...It's been that way for over 100 years so I figured "why change it"

Usually though I use the nickname of "nellie" It's my sentimental one...my grandmother died when my 'father' was only a couple of months old, so use it often...kind of a rememberance thing.

I don't think an older photo is such a problem if that person hasn't changed a great deal during that time...but when old photos are used to deliberately mislead potential daters then it is pretty sad.

On the profiles that use the sketches...I guess some people have legitimate reasons for not showing what they look like, but if they were to contact someone it would be nice to think that they would offer a picture of themselves with the email...a good faith kind of thing.

Then there are ones who simply hide behind costumes...these people probably have as much to hide as the ones using the sketches.

My own pic is current. I took it with the computer camera the day I joined CS so is just over 3 weeks now. The camera isn't great and doesn't do colour very well, so converted it to black & white....besides the b & w hides the grey hair, wrinkles & frown lines better

Phae made a good point Martia. By posting in the forums regularly, you get to know who is on the other end of the profile, a whole lot better than receiving a one-off email.

I've been on here 3 weeks now and can honestly say, there are people on this site that I would be happy to count as friends....and they have all come via the forums.

When it cam in yesterday was a photo of a guy......now is a blank sketch of a woman, with female id's..
