Well it looks we need a complete change in politics in Ireland. I thing the future for Ireland will be agriculture, arts, tourism, IT and renewable energy. We are and can be good at these. And a small effective public service with no ridiculous job perks and fancy conditions.
Yes I agree, there is shocking waste in the public sector. It is supposed to be a "public" service but the the public are the last ones to see any service. In some ways the IFM could be a good thing in cleaning it up and might be a good new start for the country. The unions have held the country to ransom for a long time now.
Well if they were bailed there could be ways around it by having those who were responsible pay less tax or be given priority for low interest loans in the future (like a good credit rating or something) while the bailed out ones would never be given a loan again or a least some limits put on them.
These are just asking prices and yes they are insane. However you will be able to drive the price well down if they get a sniff that you're half interested in it.

There must be many tillage farmers up that part of the country. The land near me is too hilly for tillage.
