Ha ha...very witty. Ive never really gone on many dates as such. And never ended up in a relationship with some one after a date...Maybe im just not the dating type
Had a look at your profile and there is nothing wrong with it what so ever In my opinion. If you lived in Cork Id bend the rules just once I do have a few friends that are in there early twentys so Im not that ageist...I cant afford to be
I could not see my self dating/going out with some one youger than 25. Id feel to weird about it...nearly as if i was taking advantage or something. Its not that I see anything wrong with it but i just would not feel comfortable. I have a rough guide that I will go ten years younger or older but anything beyong that would just get a bit too starnge as I find it hard to imagine our interests would be the same.
Im not sure if i have or not...a girl asked me out for a drink once a few years ago and when i met her I offered to buy her a drink (as you do) and then I offered to buy her another when we had finished these drinks. At this stage I was kind of realising that she seemed a bit strange and was definately not even some one i would/could be friends with...when we had finished the second lot of drinks she wanted another but said she had no money...I bought one more and then politely told her that I could not afford to buy her drinks all night and we said our goodbyes. Was a bit strange...she rang me a few more times after that asking if i was going to be out at the weekend... I dont think she was actually setting out to "use" me but actually just seemed to lack certain social skills or manners that I would take for granted.
I dont think politicians would have accepted a no vote this time around any how...I mean come on people...Do you really beieve the politicians have your best interests at heart? One good thing about the yes vote is that it might make our politicians actually have to be more honest...if that happens it might have just been worth it.
I still think we are stronger with europe than with out it...just pissed off for people that them idiots(politicians) made the first vote a joke. Trust them? Would not trust them with my piss.
Thanks for the back ground info Kev. I do think his comments were a bit silly in that context though...I mean he must have known there was going to be a reaction. But for him to be made out a holocaust denier in one report i find a bit extreme. Guy made a bad joke...becuse he is in the media spotlight he is now a monster...now thats a better joke if you ask me.
I think the world is gone PC mad...not just ireland. The press and medai have had a big role in this by sensationalising any thing that may be controversial. Now i did not read Tommy Tiernans quotes in context and i do view what he said in bad taste but until I know the context of what he said I will give him the benifit of the doubt. Im 100% against censor ship and fully support free speach but with free speech does come responsibility in my opinion.
There are a lot of Bill Hicks sketches that could be quoted and taken out of context by the media (and he was censored by a talk show, David letterman i think, In the states at one point) but he was a man that actually wanted humanity to drop its bickering and fighting and to just get along. Is Tommy the same? I have no idea. And the media dont help to come to an unbiased decisson.
well i think most of us practice this on a daily basis if we have friends/family that we respect. Even if some one is not too pleasant I will still be polite and treat them with respect up to a point. If Im being an a**hole then i dont expect some one to be nice to me so. what goes around comes around.
